In the whole trilogy this and his power of recovery was insane. This has to certify him as a steel chin?

Slick fighters don't get brutally dropped 4 times against dossers.

    I actually counted it as 3 KO's

3rd one was a push in my books.

Two massive knockdowns; rd 12 first fight and first knockdown rd 4 third fight - you could see the shock wave pass thru Furys body.

Wilder though a tremendous puncher lacks real finishing skills, watch guys like Duran, Chavez , and some of the greats how they go after a hurt fighter.

One huge knockdown for me, one average knockdown, and two cuffing shots that put him down.

Not evidence of a steel chin, but the 12th round and 4th round KDs were definitely evidence of supreme recovery ability. Fury's chin is distinctly average, as McDermott, Cunningham, Firtha and Pajcik all showed us. Parker, Joyce and Ruiz have the best chins in the top ten right now, Chisora not far behind.

All of which were scored in the two fights where he was visibly not fully fit.

And Fury has always been somewhat more hittable than he might appear to be - he's been knocked down before, by men with much less of a reputation for punching power (regardless of whether Wilder's punch power is overrated or not, he certainly hits harder than Cunningham did!), it's not as if it should be a shock that unfit Fury got tagged with pretty big punches more than once.

Chin means you don't get knocked down.

    He has tremendous recovery abilities.

Similar to Joe Louis or Larry Holmes. You can put them down, but you can't keep them down.

If Wilder goes on to KO guys like before, it'll make Fury's chin look pretty damn good. Of course we now have a side narrative that Wilder doesn't really have big power, or can only KO bums or something. But it would still be hard to deny Fury his chin cred then.

KD's can be deceptive since you can be KD'd without being hurt and you can be out on your feet without going down. Being knocked over doesn't necessarily mean you can't take damage, it just means you'll lose more points.
What really counts is how concussed you are by these punches, that's the measure of the ''chin''.
The bad chin good recovery doesn't make sense. The reason Fury recovers is because he isn't too concussed.

For example, granite chinned Froch went down from that Groves RH, but he wasn't concussed enough to be finished. Most other fighters wouldn't have made the count or would have been dispatched in the next round.

Fury walked into overhand haymakers from Cunningham and Pajcik, I don't know why people keep bringing it up. If a HW sized man throws a homerun haymaker and you walk your face into it, it's likely you'll be hurt or put over. They might not have been KO artists, but these weren't standard crosses or hooks. Fury got up and quickly and got back to work.

Fury has now taken bombs from Wlad and Wilder and not been stopped. He took two big clean RH's from Wlad and now a whole selection of big ones from Wilder. How that is an average chin, I don't know.

SMH. He didn't take any bombs for Wlad. He was hurt by two journeymen and one hyped guy.

As mentioned by others a fully fit Fury like in the second fight could not be caught/dropped,there is also the fact that him now being more aggressive under Sugar Hills tutelage has made him more hittable . Fury’s recovery powers however are a sight to behold as seen in the 12th round in the rematch and the first knockdown in the 4th of the trilogy .
