As I said above, it's not long-lasting enough for anyone to bother using in sport. Furthermore, it dehydrates you so it would be no advantage even if someone were stupid enough to enter the ring coked up.
He'll be back. Cocaine is normal behaviour for heavyweight fighters. It's interesting now remembering those ifltv interviews where he was 'joking' about taking pills and coke, and saying stuff about 'all athletes are on PEDs'. The man's just a little bit too honest to be a professional athlete, he's one of those guys who's always on the brink of confessing.
We'll never know if the drug problem led to (or enhanced) his mental instability or if the instability led him to drugs. Either way, time for Tyson to put his career on hold and get into a rehab and a mental facility and get help for his problems. I wish him the best.
just read both him and hughie tested positive for nandrolone to and very high amounts of it, they refused to attend a ukad meeting about it
All this makes Peter Fury look VERY bad who was adamant Tyson wouldn't be stripped and he's just "a bit unmotivated because the press was so critical". Peter knew about the coke and the VADA testing. Let's look at what we have so far: - UKAD hearing for Nandralone abuse Nov. 4th - Tyson allegedly refused a UKAD drug test, told them to "fxxx off!". Maximum ban for this offence is 4 years. - Tyson failed a VADA test - Tyson has not supplied the WBA with any medical records Anyone who thinks the above is 'not a big deal' or 'blown out of proportion' needs to get their head checked. The entire Fury team appears totally out of their depth dealing with this, this is a slow motion train wreck. Very unprofessional.
I once ran a marathon on a Sunday having been hideously drunk on the Friday before. I am therefore uniquely placed to say that no fighter should ever be stripped of their titles for taking cocaine. They should be commended, if anything, for achieving at that level despite being a coke head.
