He would say that considering he's about to fight and get KO'd by him which even he knows will happen deep down
Has he done an interview during the lead up to this fight where Joshua doesn’t get mentioned? Same with Wilder. It’s clear who the number 1 is.
He also tweeted that he wanted to put two hundred grand or something similar on Klitschko to beat him. Does raise questions about why Tyson spends so much time talking about such an average fighter.
He also said Martin beats Joshua, Parker beats Joshua, Klitschko beats Joshua (if it goes past 4) Didn't he have 1 or 2k on Martin to beat Joshua? He even offered to help Martin to prepare for AJ. He said if it goes past 4 rounds Klitschko beats Joshua, I'm sure he hd money on Klitschko also, no sure, but I swear I heard or read that. Fury picks against Joshua in nearly every fight, he has even had money on AJ's opponents, Fury is jealous and bitter that Joshua has been loved and adored by the British public and he has been almost ignored, he is seen as a little bit of a joke and gimmick. Nobody really cares what Fury thinks about Joshua, if he really wanted to fight AJ he could have, he could have got all those belts back he claims are his but he didn't fancy it, he would rather cash out against Wilder than be battered senseless by AJ and forever be in his shadow.
Even his Dad said recently he would have rather him gone that way, Bellew, Whyte, Joshua. Fury would have earned far more money and had the opportunity to beat the man many regard as the number 1 in the division. Fury didn't fancy it and still don't fancy it.
But you'd accuse him of cashing out against AJ too if he went that route. Sure, Fury is likely jealous and resentful of AJ's success. That's not a bad thing. It's a good boxing rivalry. AJ is the Golden Boy and Fury is clearly not. These rivalries are good. The contrast is good. Both men have done well to make the UK a dominant nation in heavyweight stakes. I know you'll be supporting Tyson Fury on Saturday, so why all the negativity ?
It would be a fair position to accuse Fury of cashing out in both instances if he fought Wilder or Joshua. People who love him, hate him, ignore him, rate him or think he's a bum who got lucky; nobody said two nobody fights after what he's been through was good enough preparation for either of those two.
But most of the same people complaining about him "cashing out" were complaining about him fighting Seferi and Pianeta, even with all his problems. They reckoned he should have fought someone better. Then they complained about his plan to "milk" the cash from the fans with 4 or 5 tune ups. Then they complained that all the talk of fighting Wilder would prove to be rubbish, that the fight isn't happening this year. Now, it seems, they suspect the fight IS indeed happening, so Fury gets the flak for "cashing out". Fury has been trash talking Wilder AND Joshua for years. Even when he was 28 stone he was saying he could "get off the sofa" and beat them with no tune-ups. Right or wrong, he's willing to take the challenge now. Whatever he does, he's said so much he leaves him open to his critics, who seem to change their angle of attack just as often as he changes his own mind. If he had stayed at 28 stones and never come back, they'd say he was a waster who couldn't handle the pressure. But he comes back, loses 10 stones, gets his mind right, and is going to an American champion's backyard to challenge him, ready or not .... and it's almost as if they can't give him even an smidge of credit, at all.
