I think there's a few different points here. You can criticise Fury for the decision to face Wilder with so little preparation whilst at the same time praising him for taking the challenge. And I think people will naturally criticise him if he spends years telling everyone he could fight Joshua any time he likes, and then returns against an opponent as risible as Seferi.
Awful take. I think Fury is going to get ironed out but at least he had the balls to step up unlike certain other UK heavyweights - and I've been half expecting Fury to pull out. But what do I expect from a man who lambasted Wilder for not turning up to the AJ/Parker fight but gave AJ a pass for not going to Wilder/Fury. Be objective you weird fan boys, seriously.
Fury is a salty loser.. with 15 minutes of fame attributed to him. He's boring, deluded, entitled and doesnt give credit where its due. I'd like to see him get.knocked out so he can come back tl reality but I also want him to win because he is more willing to make fights happen.
Yup, he's a salty loser who's actually undefeated and former lineal HW champ, has overcome serious mental health and substance abuse problems, has got himself back in shape and is challenging for the HW title against a dangerous puncher. Yeah what a loser.
I agree with some of what you say but I take the mental health issues with a pinch of salt. I think he's a funny guy at times but a lot of what he and his team say seem pretty dubious.
Oh so he made it up then ?? You only have to remember some of the things Fury was saying back then in interviews, the brief conversion to Islam as well as the drug and alcohol abuse to see he clearly wasn't in his right mind.
Anyone who throws away $10 million (career high payday by far) for a rematch against a man he already proved he can beat is probably mentally ill. Anyone who puts on 10 stones of fat in 18 months is mentally ill. No completely sane or happy person has EVER done that.
So your points are Fury is mentally ill? But when we question his decisions and career path we are the ones who haven't got a clue?
Yes he is undefeated but in my opinion Fury is seriously bitter and jealous that AJ gets love and respect from the British public and he doesn't. People seem to forget his relationship with the British media and British public after Klitschko. The Fury family claimed they were harshly treated by the media and public after Klitschko. What has Fury done to change that public opinion of him here in the UK? We are not America, losing weight isn't going to make people cheer and cry with happiness, we are not going to cry because Fury has stopped taking drugs, drinking like a fish and gorging on food, everybody has problems, some very serious problems and Fury himself has said those issues were self inflicted. Plus we are a little more manly and alpha over here. We still have our nuts. The vast majority don't burst in to tears at the slightest upset and demand safe spaces. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/o...nvestigation-after-hate-crime-accusation.html https://inews.co.uk/sport/boxing/fury/ Just two examples (the first ones I found) about how Fury feels and how the media feel, and I believe the British public feel and felt more like the lines coming out in the media in my opinion. Just like British boxing fans reacted negatively to Wilder saying we are all racist (Wilder errr forgetting AJ is actually black) .. people didn't react very well when Fury claims similar treatment, the fact is people turned on Fury (right or wrong) for his views on other subjects. But because Fury didn't get a pass he claimed it's because he is a traveller, now some of that may be true, I bet there are people who dislike Fury for just that reason but the majority didn't, they turned because he acted and still acts like a moby and embarrassed himself, his country and British boxing.
Just like to add.. Billy Joe Saunders claims the same sort of rubbish.. "it's because I'm a traveller" So.. Let's forget the utter rubbish he comes out with sometimes, sometimes offensive, let's forget Billy abusing and humiliating vulnerable members of our society and videoing it for his entertainment.. Let's just forget all that, because if we criticise Saunders then obviously we are all racist and must despise Travellers. People don't like that, people here in the UK don't like being shut down or bullied in to silence because if they dare to speak out they will be accused of discrimination, people really do hate that and will never forget that sort of stuff. Saunders has burned his bridges and Fury isn't far away from burning all of his too, maybe he already has.
My point is that Fury was clearly not right in the head back in 2016, when he threw away 10 million and started to put on 10 stones. End of story. I never said you haven't got a clue. I'm pointing out that whatever Tyson Fury does in his career, you criticize. He can't win with you. The negativity is incredible. Never can I remember a British boxer stepping out and challenging an American in America faced with such negativity from so many British so-called fans. It's made all the more bizarre by the fact that he has a record of going to a great champion's backyard and pulling an upset. Fury's made some mistakes. Everyone has. But he's now doing what he's supposed to do : boxing. And he's taking on a champion. If he wasn't doing that, he'd be criticizing for just talking big. Now he's attempting to back up his big talk, there's really nothing to criticize.
Fury has every right to be jealous or resentful of Joshua's success, if that's the case. It's professional rivalry. It happens in sports, show business, film, music, all the time. They are all fighting for recognition as the best and for money. I like a bit of genuine bitterness and genuine grudges in boxing sometimes. Look how people remember Eubank and Benn now. They love the genuine rivalry. Instead of this "fake beef" and "fake friends" stuff we get most of the time. It's okay for boxers to resent the existence of their rivals. It's natural and normal.
It's not the fact that he's jealous of Joshua's success that get's me it's the fact that he always goes on about how crap AJ is, claiming all his opponents beat him and then not giving him credit when he beats them and was proved wrong.
