Usyk does not sell to the casual fan. He's not a power puncher. He doesn't speak English very well. And he's not British, American or Mexican so he doesn't have a large ethnic following. He's not the man the men in suits wanted to win during his fights with AJ. And that is understandable because money is king. Money makes the world go round. Just the way it is. Joshua is a huge draw. Plain and simple. But for the sake of sport Fury and Usyk must happen. To determine HW supremacy.

Simple economics the undisputed fight is not as lucrative without AJ. The Saudi’s paid the money because they relate to AJ who is culturally more in sync with them than a Fury or Usyk.

No doubt the undisputed fight should happen. I am merely pointing out the economic drivers which you clearly understand better than some others in this thread.

I'm just waiting for Fury to start hyping up Usyk as a huge threat as the fight nears...

Well, him and a few others on here, albeit perhaps wishfully.

Yeah, The Ring are dummies. It was obvious the 'retirement' was theater while he waited for Usyk-Joshua II to work itself out. There was no reason they couldn't play along one week longer.

No matter. Fury is the lineal champion. And Fury-Usyk is next, so every physical belt's rightful ownership will be settled one bout from now.

And this is exactly what everyone should focus on.

The issue will be resolved next fight. No need to worry about it.

If someone wants to say Fury has defended his championship 8 times and has been champ for over 6 years, they can, I'm OK with that. If someone wants to say Fury retired his championship claim, they can, I'm OK with that.

Either way it gets resolved next fight anyway.
