I fcking hate rematches clauses. Rematches should be for draws or controversial decisions only.

Fury v Usyk for all the belts should be happening.

I don't really know and neither do you,yet you are putting the blame solely on fury?the fact whyte was the one who pushed it to arbitration should have you asking questions though.

No personal dislike of Earn but some of his scams and impact on the SPORT of boxing need called out from day to day.

Preventing the only TWO current ELITE Fighters and the ONLY TWO UNDEFEATED Fighters from making history going for the Undisputed World Heavyweight Championship for all 4 belts is shameful.

You are right in what you are saying but they are all the same. Fury v AJ happens if Wilder didn’t have the same clause. And he got beat pillar to post by Wilder in the second fight. The third fight was a cracker but we already knew who the better man was after the first two fights.

Just a few points to make on the situation. Only my opinion and rumours

Dillian Whyte has paid sanctioning fees for 11 of his 30 fights as a pro to the WBC and totals over well into the low to mid six figures. He has a strong case that he should have been called as mandatory well before the Povetkin rematch. He believes there were atleast three separate occasions the Breazeale fight and other when he had the adverse finding that WBC did not carry out their due process and not according to their own track record. I do believe he has a point in a few of these and likely has a strong case but when it comes to the rules of the WBC there are so many clauses that cover themselves it’s very difficult to predict. Part of Whytes arbitration is that he fights specifically for the WBC title next, No franchise champion is allowed to be installed and his purse split is set at 45% as interim champion. If he gets those things he is smart to hold out for the arbitration.

the WBC have put pressure on him to remove the arbitration by saying they cannot call him as it’s in arbitration. The issue for Whyte is he wants it contracted that they cannot make fury franchise and he’s not impeded on the purse split. He doesn’t trust the WBC so wants it in writing. If he wins then he’s in a very very strong position and will likely send the fight to pursebids and fair play to him. The WBC shouldn’t have been so quick to take his sanctioning fees without giving him a shot.

In the meantime team fury are putting pressure on a tickover. The Ruiz fights is a non starter as it needs to clear over 500k PPV buys in the US which is something Fury vs Wilder struggled with. Fury vs Helenius will likely be next at the MEN. Team fury have massively lowballed Whyte with a $5m offer which is £4m and No where near enough for a fight that generates £25m easily in the UK. (£16m PPV share, £5m gate, £5m overseas tv and sponsors) Whyte will not settle for anything less than $10m/£8.5m which is roughly 35% of the fight. However if he gets the 45% he makes £11/12m easily.

fury can vacate but gives up a massive marketing tool for the Usyk fight who is unknown in the US and only makes similar number as Whyte would in the UK. They would need to sell that fight to the Middle East who have made it clear they want it for the undisputed to pay top money.

there’s a lot of posturing happening and it will be interesting to play out but Whyte is rolling the dice and until team fury offer him something tempting he has no reason not to let the arbitration play out. He believes worst case they will mandate the fight. If they give him a lower split at say 25% then that’s only what top rank are offering any way.

No comes the rumour that has been floated. DAZN are ready to launch PPV in the UK and need a marquee fight to launch it. They want either Fury vs Whyte or AJ vs Usyk. The biggest thing that is driving the potential Whyte pursebid option for Eddie Hearn is that DAZN are happy to write off most profit from this event in order to drive subscribers. They will lower the broadcaster cut from the 35% Sky and BT take to 10%. Which on a million buys creates an additional £6m in the UK and Hearn also has the ability to use his US and worldwide rights budget to make up a additional revenue whereas TR have to try to seal it as PPV in other markets.

DAZN will likely market the fight with a discount if you are a DAZN subscriber and with a 3 month subscription for free if you are a new subscriber.

will be interesting how this plays out

Yes it is not just Earn and it means the biggest of fights rarely happen when they should.

Very frustrating and about time the rematch clause was banned.

Earn took it to a new low level when he had a rematch clause for Pudding Whyte rematching Pedvetkin when his Lineal Pudding Title was lost in the ring - incredible.

I think it is wrong to charge those loyal DAZN UK £7.99 per month Subscribers a single penny for Box Office events but have no problem at all them charging non subscribers.

The worst Box Office mugths in the world award goes to the Aussie PPV Mugths who paid 60 Oz Dollars to watch Paul Gallen this month in a 3 round contest against another rugby player - words fail me.

Be quiet. You're whole life on here is dedicated to slagging him off. I'd say that 90% of your posts are aimed at them.

Scams? I can't think of a SINGLE fighter who has sued him. I can't remember him having to change the name of his company either.

Preventing them? Tyson didn't need THREE fights with the SAME person. He has to take some of the blame.

Makes me laugh when people get accused of being anti-Matchroom if they criticise anything to do with Hearn like it’s a cardinal sin. Why would anyone hate a promotional company

    Good post thanks for that.

The ironic thing out of all of this is that Whyte is gonna end up being very inactive should him and Fury eventually meet. Wasn't the plan originally to fight twice more in 2021 after Povetkin 2? Now he's looking at up to 18 months of inactivity with this arbitration when Hearn wanted to keep Whyte active. It was a dumb move by Whyte's team to try and make the Wallin fight when they would have known that Wallin was extremely high risk (and imo, would have won), instead of finding a tickover fight that was low risk being so close to a mandatory.
