He qualifies for Irish citizenship actually. He also fought for Ireland as a amateur.

I find it funny that it's the same guys having a pop at Fury for saying he is Irish are the same guys that were w@nking over Chisora last week even though he hasn't a drop of British blood in him and only landed in London when he had a big pair of hairy balls with him. Interesting that.

The reason people are being cynical about him being Irish is because they know full well that he is saying it to take advantage of the Irish patriotism and get more support and sell more tickets. In other words he's Irish when he can make money out of it...

Why does Fury live in britain and have most of his fights in britain if he considers himself to be Irish rather than british? Why did he fight for the british title? Where was he born?

For some strange reason some of the Irish people on here have a chip on their shoulder thinking people are arguing Fury couldn't possibly be Irish because he's a good boxer so he's ours...when in fact they're saying it because he isn't Irish...simple...

    Still doesn't make him Irish.

He's a British citizen, of Irish heritage. If you count all the people in the northwest with some Irish blood as "Irish" there probably wouldn't be any English people left there.

No, He's Irish because he's an Irish traveller. FFS man, it's not like he hides his heritage. It seems the English are as bad as the French soccer team these days, which isn't at all surprising really what with the English being the most anti nationalistic people on Earth. Cultural marxism, what a load of nonsense.

There is no "British" ethnicity. I take it you're aware of that? It's a nonsense meaningless term like EU citizen that means jack ****.

There's no British ethnicity....no ****. Hence why I said British "citizen".

Explain to me how most of the French national team aren't French, I'd love to hear the rationale and thought process you used to come to that conclusion. Let me guess, because they're black?

in all fairness fury is an irish traveller and they are a disticnt group in britain who keep to their own and keep to their irish traveller traditions
most have irish accents even like martin ward who fights for gb at lightweight .
they all consider themselves irish to the core and genetically are the most of irish people of all as shown on former irish olympian francie barretts show blood of the travellers
