Guys, Tyson Fury is semi-retired and cashing out on his name. I've never been a fan of his, but he has every right to do what he's doing at this stage of his career. I thought that he would've handled Usyk with not much difficulty following the third Wilder fight if the war hadn't have happened, but Fury isn't someone who takes great care of himself and the outcome is more in doubt now. He's older than his actual age and only he truly knows what he has left. It's whatever. Is the rage because we're dying to see an old Oleksander Usyk become the undisputed heavyweight champion, outbox a couple more bums to a UD, then retire? I can live without seeing that if it comes to it. Sorry.
And on top of that, there isn't really an easier way to become undisputed than taking your one belt into a fight with a guy that's already got the other three... Usyk already beat the guy that did the harder work of unifying the other three belts, beating probably the next best fighter in the division in the process - someone neither Fury or Wilder has the stones to fight.
Up to a point, yes... but when you've only beaten the most overhyped fighter in the division and the corpse of a fringe contender (who your overhyped bum ran from), it's not exactly a stellar career that gives him any real right to proclaim himself the best in the division, let alone the right to duck the best fight on the basis that he considers it too easy to bother with. It's still pretty pathetic, if you ask me, even if it does make sense to make money whilst he can.
Just look at his resume, it's absolute trash - especially for a champion who could've made whatever fights he wanted. When you look at the level of most of his opponents, it's not that hard to knock them out - there's no granite chins in there
There is a possibility that Fury will retire from boxing, but he will still remain active in talking crap and insulting other fighters...
Wilder has more tomato cans on his record than the Campbell’s Soup Company. As for Fury, he’s a good/average heavyweight champion who has ducked his two biggest challengers. That’s his legacy and he’ll largely be forgotten in 20 years.
Average?! Cmon man, he dethroned an ATG heavyweight and toys with heavyweights like Whyte who would be considered "average" He's incredibly annoying though, and his legacy will be tarnished if he ducks the Usyk fight.
He is certainly a lazy gluttonous person so I guess he may not. I would like to see it happen as I think AJ at this stage will beat him, and I would love to see Fury get chinned.
