You could well be right... but I don't even particularly care who wins, I just want the best fights possible to get made and for fighters to have enough good names on their resumes to show how good they actually are (or aren't). That's one of the really frustrating things about Fury - he looks like he might actually be the real deal, but he refuses to prove it, which makes me question whether he really is or not... unlike many on here, it seems, I'm not comfortable with blindly trusting what my eyes tell me without the opposing fighter/s being of a calibre that it actually means something. I have a particular issue with fighters who claim to be the best of the best whilst having dirt poor resumes - especially when there are armies of fans providing apologetics for them and insisting they're "real" anyway.
Agree with most of this and I am a Fury fan. As much as Fury might have been overrated he certainly was never as terrible as version we all saw today. The fame and success went to his head he thought he could phone it in against Francis who made him pay and embarrassed him. Fury has definitely been partying with drugs alcohol and eating like a slob. It has caught up to him. He usually looks fat and sloppy but today it looked like he had no muscle tone whatsoever in his arms shoulders and chest. Unless he can do something drastic he is finished.
Honestly, after tonight, I wouldn't be surprised if he retired again out of embarrassment. This guy got put down by an MMA fighter making his boxing debut, in front of a bunch of legends of the sport who had front row seats to this, and then went on to just squeak by with a decision after fighting in a way similar to what he's criticized AJ for. I mean I hope he doesn't. I still wanna see him fight and lose to Usyk. I'm just saying a sudden retirement wouldn't be shocking in the slightest.
So, how’d those analytics go? Ol boy fumbled the bag and the world didn’t have a card in the world to tune in (to pay for it at least…) I mean… I tried to tell you guys. There’s a formula to digital marketing and the build up had the making (and tell tale signs) of a terrible flop. Reports are coming in that this was an almighty failure in terms of PPV buys. God it’s good to see this cheating scumbag fail.
Boxers have realised you get your name ip in lights then quickly do all the reality TV, YouTube fights and realease a single before no one cares anymore or you lose a fight. Earlier I'd be commercials, but today's guys are such lying, scummy, drug taking scumbags, no one wants them in their commercials.
Good riddance. Unbiased opinions please. What did he actually do in the heavyweight division besides the Wilder bouts? I don't follow the HW like the others so I literally know **** all apart from Joshua, Fury, Wilder, Usyk, Ruiz in terms of modern HW. I know a few others like Joseph Parker, Huni? Who is still on the way up. Then a couple others like Dylian Whyte ( Or Dylan ) and a few others that have several losses next to their name. The point I'm making is, is he overrated? Or actually one of the legit great Heavyweights ever to lace up. Additionally the HW are shithouse compared to what we had during the 1990's to mid 2000's. Tyson, Lewis, Holyfield, Bowe etc then guys like Klitschko came in.
Surrender belt/belt ceremony/ wishful thinking gifting Usyk the belt lol.For a start Lewis was Bowes mandatory face him or be stripped so Bowe binned the belt.As for Usyk not only is he not Furys mandatory but he is not even ranked in the top 15 by the WBC,Wilder is the no1 WBC ranked Fighter and Joshua the no2 ranked fighter, however Joshua also has options with the WBO (Zhang) and IBF (Hrgovic) should the Undisputed winner retire .
That's because the organizations don't rank champions of other organizations, for some dumbass arbitrary reason. Fights where a champion has been fought with another vacant belt on the line have been done though, like AJ vs. Wlad and Canelo vs. Callum Smith. The WBC was even the vacant belt in question in the latter example, so it's doable but not something I'd hold my breath for in this case. Even if Fury does drop the belt, which I doubt will happen at the moment, I think it's more likely we see a fight between two guys ranked by the WBC as is often the case. Wilder vs. AJ would be great and add more incentive to getting the fight done (not that there isn't plenty incentive anyways), but because this is boxing and us boxing fans usually ain't that lucky, I'm sure it's more likely it'll end up in the hands of someone who'll come up with a million reasons not to fight for undisputed
Fury has been semi-retired since Wallin. Five fights in 50 months, the last of them was supposed to be a sparring session. He won't really be missed as we want active champions. I'd prefer he goes now. Usyk is a fighting man and can easily go to 40. We'll see.
Yes Im aware the other sanctioning bodies dont rank opposing Champions.I did mention in my post that Wilder and Joshua are ranked the no1 and no2 by the WBC,merely pointing out that nobody is gifting Usyk a free belt no matter how much they wish it.Hearn will wait and see how the dust settles after Undisputed to see if the winner retires then look at his options, also be nice in the mean time to see the WBC to order a fight between Wilder and Joshua for the mandatory slot then see what Hearn has to say . No doubt should Fury win he won’t announce his retirement even if he plans to do so,then we will see what route Hearn/Joshua takes then .
