Story's in the BN, He's split with Uncle Hughie due to a falling out and has been training himself. So he's opted for Chris Johnson well known for winning Bronze @ 1992 Olympics and being beaten by Herol 'Bomber' Graham as well as training Steve Molitor to IBF Crown.

Not a bad move Johnson knows Pajkic and also seems a solid enough trainer. What i don't like is the constant trainer merry-go-round with Tyson it's doing more harm then good in long run.

Didn't Manny Steward offer to train him? If Fury is serious about being a top fighter he should head over to America like his cousin, train with Steward and get in shape. He'll never beat a top fighter in the shape he turns up in for his fights up to now.

I'm not sure if Steward is right for Fury though. He's the best trainer for these big heavyweights but they tend to rely on using their range and being quite dull, whereas Fury wants to fight in close and be exciting. I think Steward is far more suitable for someone like Price than he is Fury.

Having said that, it'd obviously be great for Fury to learn from Steward, even if he isn't going to adopt the typical 'Steward heavyweight' style. I think there are trainers who could do a better job of improving Fury though, rather than changing him.

Johnson's problem is that he is know it all and screams and shouts from the corner. An irratation if you sit ringside.

Yeah i've noticed the know it all behavior, Remember as a kid my dad said watch Bomber Graham fight. So he made his comeback and won a few and then Johnson came over intercontinental title fight IIRC. Johnson had that cocky swagger about him. End of the fight he was like a child smacked in Tesco's for complaining. Bomber Graham done a job on him brilliantly.

As a trainer though saw a vid of him with Molitor and both came across arrogant. You'd obviously know more but just impression i got...

Not sure he's good for Tyson in long run, TBH Steward is the man that's changed Fury and made him into a champion. He corrected his balance issues and made him employ the jab to better effect. Tyson always had the ability and Manny nurtured it.

"Go to America" has been the stock advice for boxers for donkies years but it doesn't suit a lot of guys either professionally and/or personally and they still do OK. Not saying its a bad idea, just that its not for everyone and isn't the miracle worker that its sometimes made out.

He worked with a few times, He had a training camp with him for a few months IIRC. In that time Fury trained watched Wlad and also had time to work with Manny who addressed his footwork and made him work on balance and staying in position. When you see him against Page all he did was work on the right things. He could of forced a stoppage IMO or at least pushed it but he boxed to a plan. From that time i've noticed Fury's not as sloppy as he was say against Powers. Still lots to work on but Manny did good work with the lad IMO.

Well what i saw was a well overweight Fury with his trunks pulled under his armpits took the route in a boring fight by a man 4st smaller, the canadian crowd were booing, and rightly so, his balance didnt look any different to me! In fact he looked a lump better when he fought the brazilian guy and in better shape, with his uncle training him, and improved since with uncle in uk, why give an american credit for what a uk trainer has done, if Steward was so great why hasent fury run back to him? he cant be that daft' can he?:good

Fury was with Steward for 2 weeks before the Page fight. I'm not sure how you expect him to fix Tyson's conditioning in that time.

    :deal

To many on here wanna see Larry O's and suchlike. Fury's conditioning got better once his father got put away. I think it woke him up and gave him something to fight for.

Cos he puts in first disciplined display of career and cos a bunch of Canadians boo it was **** display :patsch.

Fury can fight, but discipline looks a big problem, but we will see if he looks and fights better on the 12th, i ve seen Pajkic he,s no great shakes, so anything less than a top performance, and he's looking for another trainer, FREDDY ROACH,anyone.
