    No Ortiz was happy with the terms but his management wanted more money. Ortiz was furious with his team if I remember correctly.

    I used to think boxing fans could have their opinions changed but after reading your post you’ve changed my opinion. Now I agree with you entirely that you’ll never change anyone’s opinion.

    Byrd was a diminished fighter, hence he was clearly outperformed by Chambers in Povetkin's next fight. Whyte's never looked as good as Jennings looked against Wlad or Joyce and would struggle with Jennings' speed and range. Povetkin (albeit borderline shot) went life and death with Whyte, it wasn't a dominant boxing performance like Ortiz-Jennings.

    Joshua ducked Ortiz in 2017, Hearn was doing everything we could to weasel out of that fight, so Ortiz left Matchroom for PBC.

    Ortiz was likely promised a guaranteed shot at Wilder at the end of the year, who had already KO'd him and is a more dangerous puncher than Joshua. Assuming that Ortiz was even fit to fight Joshua on two weeks notice, fighting a titlist who had already KO'd you when you were fresher over another titlist is not a "duck". PBC thought "Let's feed no-name Ruiz to Joshua while recycling Ortiz as a Wilder opponent" and Joshua got dropped four times and quit.

    Any evidence for “Hearn doing everything he could to weasel out of the fight in 2017?” I imagine not. There is however statements from Ortiz manager turning down the offer to be millers replacement, and it was over 5 weeks notice and not two.
    The fight with wilder wasn’t till November- plenty of time to recover after a Joshua fight on the 1st June.

    Dress it up how you like but the only fact is Ortiz turned down a reported $5-$7m dollar offer to fight for three titles when his last purse was $500k.

    You could argue that beating Ortiz means very little. Therefore Fury beating Wilder means nothing.

    All depends on who you favour
