I have seen Eddie Hearn come out and state that he does not believe Fury vs Usyk will become a reality. I strongly disagree. I 100% believe we will get Fury vs Usyk during the spring / early summers and what a fantastic fight. One day I see Tyson Fury being too strong physically and the next day I see Usyk being lightning fast on the inside. Maybe too fast...? It ´s one of those fights that is impossible to predict.
I really can't stand Hearn at all these days. He will be so pissed off at this fight going ahead whilst he tries to sell AJs next crappy fight in a half empty stadium
A very good indication that the fight is about to be finalised. Meanwhile, on the general forum, people are still irate due to random unsourced boxing blog rumours about Deontay Wilder and arguing about splits.
It’s not a good look for Frank Warren that he wasn’t able to negotiate a deal with Saudi Arabia. Both Fury and Usyk will lose out on a lot of money because of it.
Someone posted an interview with John McDermott and it sounded like they were messing him about a lot with the rematch. Kept getting him in camp and cancelling dates, then once he was completely unsettled, out of camp, and desperate for cash, they made the fight. I think that was why Fury was so paranoid about Ustinov. It's was like a mad self-confession. He knew what was up. I do believe K-2 were trying to stitch him up though. At the very least get a look at how he would have to handle a big guy with of a similar size to Klitschko. i.e. with no time to train, he'd have to go with the one game plan he had prepared for years = the one for Wlad. I suspect that's why he never gave Wlad the rematch either. The way they approached the fight needed the element of surprise, which wouldn't work a second time. Though I might be reaching with all that, but it kind of lines up with how things went down.
Only to those that were going to make money from the hosting fee. If anything it makes him look better in the eyes of the UK fans if it's staged at Wembley. Man of the People and all that not selling out to the oil money.
So? Why do we care, we're not seeing any of the money. As long as the fight gets made then I'm happy.
Whilst true what you are saying, it just shows the amount of greed that is in the game when they already have millions in the bank and are going to be getting millions more anyway.
It won’t be Saudi Arabia. Can’t be the US for obvious reasons. Wembley looks like the most likely location. I doubt Fury is happy though about it.
But he claims that he doesn't care about the money. As long as they get in the ring together, the Frank Warren has done his job whether you like him or not.
They have a lot less money than top footballers and they're risking their lives and health. They deserve as much as possible.
Cant wait for this fight.. hope it's in Saudi as I will be heading over there for six month to work. Amazing country for an amazing fight
