I've seen somewhere that the stadium or arena would not be built in time in Jeddah. Don't know If that is just baloney though.
How is it AJ managed to get two fights in Saudi. Jake Paul v Tommy Fury gets done in Saudi yet the undisputed HW title fight doesn't get done. Seems to me team Fury managed asked for too much money and the Saudis told him to do one.
Who knows. Possibly some bull**** about Ramadam, possibly they're diverting their money into Fifa World Cup bribes. Either way I'm glad. A great fight deserves a great atmosphere.
Or maybe AJ has more value to the Saudis than Tyson Fury does. Fury won't like that but the reality is the biggest purse for this fight comes from the Middle East. Remember AJ v Fury was also due to take place in Saudi. Now we have a fight where AJ isn't involved and the Saudis ain't staging it after it seemed to be a given that Fury v Usuyk would take place there.
I don't see how this fight gets made easily at Wembley. If reports are correct that Usuyk accepted his side of the Saudi deal suddenly his then going to be asked to take a lot less to fight in London. I can see why Usuyk could say "fcuk that".
Any actual updates on this? Apart from “Saudis not wanting it” do we have actual news? I’m getting very sceptical about it now. I’m 50/50 whether it happens or not
Lots of it guesswork. I think if it is to be announced, especially if it is Saudi, it’ll happen at the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight. I doubt much will happen this week publically as it’s that fight week, which is a pretty big event in itself.
Again, Usyk negotiated and agreed his part with the Saudis weeks ago. Rumours are Fury out priced himself which in Saudi is quite a feat in itself. I don’t see how this fight works financially at Wembley?
My guess is he knows what the Saudi’s had been paying Joshua and thinks he’s worth the same or more. It’s hard to see them doing it at Wembley for a lot less though, I feel it’s being used to try and push the Saudi’s back to the table.
