People want to laugh and put down Fury like this matchup is absurd. I already have been proven wrong twice with Fury, I thought the man would get destroyed by Wlad and lose to Wilder. He arguably won 21 of 24 rounds against those two. He has the skill set to really trouble Ali. Ali could not come forward as effectively as he could when he would box, and against Fury’s size and reach Ali would have to come forward.
It sounds blasphemous to even entertain the idea but in reality this is not an easy night for Ali.

Watch Ali v Bugner where Bugner fought negative, Ali had to turn aggressor to make a fight of it, didn't make for good viewing tbh, Ali looked like a fish out of water, like what your saying too, he wasn't effective, and with Furys dimensions, Ali has to come forward, when he does he will look to clinch Fury after attempting what he throws, the clinch is where it saps Ali too imo, he loved to clinch and pull heads down and lean, that's another part of his game thrown out the window against a man of Fury's size

But he was very fleet of foot. He could move in and out, dance around etc much better and quicker than fury. He was THE master heavyweight of hit and not get hit. Ali was just on a different level to every other heavyweight in history when it came to speed and movement. Frazier (for example) caused him problems because of his style - aggressive, close quarters and non stop pressure punching. Fury is the exact opposite in every way. Still, at least we agree it would be a fun one to watch.

Furys reach negates that a bit imo, and not only that, he would stnk the joint out if need be

Ali has major problems with Fury just on two long jabber match up.

i can't seriously make Ali the favorite here bc the way to beat Fury is being aggressive and hurting him. This wasn't Ali.

it's a good fight but people seriously have to look at the actual match up....

that is a very capable 6'9 boxer possibly taking away the Ali jab which nullifies him.

Yes people Fury is real he's on video watch him some time like you watch Ali re runs they both exist/ existed. Of course Ali.in the much better fights but Fury isn't fighting them he's fighting Ali here.

You cant compare a natural cruiser to a SHW. Lomachenko moves better than Ali so what?

Fury is bigger, stronger, and he isn't slow. In addition, he has boxed his whole life, he isn't some tall kid that someone introduced to boxing at 21 years old. Ali relied on being bigger and faster, when he wasn't bigger and faster, he wasn't effective. I just watched his fights with Norton, probably the first Norton fight was the first fight he had with someone his size who was a good athlete and Ali struggled with the limited Norton. Fury is too big, strong, skilled, and quick for Ali. Ali was the best of the 60s, one of the best of the 70s, but boxing and athletes improve over time.

Fury vs Usyk would show us how Fury deals with smaller, but much quicker and craftier opponent.

I think it would only show us how Fury deals with Usyk, Usyk is unique in the way he trains, he is a southpaw, he has an amateur background that is more extensive than any of the 70s heavyweights. Usyk is not like Ali, or Foreman, etc. except in size. His skills and southpaw stance make him a completely different type of fighter than any of the 6-3, 215-20 pound heavyweights of the past.

What Pat said, AGAIN !!!! Theres something very very special about this bunch of EE fighters mate, come from nowhere and can challenge anything that's come before them if you have a balanced opinion.. What a beautiful fantastic time for the EE boys getting their respect by banging heads relentlessly, vigorously, and undoubtedly. Monster mofo's, and just shows that boxing is mentality, if you want it, you will get it !

Ali between 64/67 would beat Fury imo. He's just too quick with his feet and hands, also he had unlimited stamina. Tyson had his hands full with a smaller Cunningham and i promise you would not see Ali crumble like Cunningham did. Any 70's version of Ali is slower and goes to the ropes too much. I think Ali let his previous success go to his head in the 70's. Anytime i see the Ron Lyle fight it annoys me, because i know the late 60's version would make Lyle look like a total nobody. Ali beat Lyle but it's clear as day Ali was behind on the score cards due to clowning and going to those stupid ropes. Ali was a much better boxer, but he did stupid things in the 70's. I know some people will think im going over the top, but just watch him against Spinks in the first fight. Ali should never lose that fight, but it was down to him using silly tactics that a late 60's version would never use. Tyson would beat a 70's version, but he would not beat a 64/67 version.

and to small, no punch like Wilder to stop Tyson walking him down ! If he was a banger then yes maybe you have an argument, but he would find it extremely difficult trying to beat the super heavies from Lennox Lewis onwards
