that's the abiding memory of the fight. fury well and truly put in his place. not good at all. "anyone gets a tough fight off john mcdermott" even matt skelton. :yep
Imo O'Connor is a poor ref. As a Fury fan i was yelling at tv to get Mcdermott off him. H e is slow and shows no care and that scorecard is beyond a joke.
He came across as a real **** in the interview (until he realized that McDermott was standing above him). They are going to have to start looking at getting judges in if its too to much ask one man to ref and score.
****in joke of a decision. But thats not a bad performance of 7 fights. The hype rolls on. And I'm a ****in fiver down.:|
i;m so ****in glad i did not put that tenna on mcdermott i would have smashed my £900 tele, i got away with that one
I wish sky would do the interview with the ref like showtime would love to see some of these gimps explain there decisions 98-92 WTF!
the boxing community aren't stupid, we know who won the fight. vitali fights again on dec 12, put the rematch on the undercard and have some neutral judges score the fight haye was quite diplomatic there
But is that just asking for three dodgy scorecards instead of one. I can't believe that Terry O'Connor just took his eye off the ball for 10 rounds because he was trying to do two jobs at the one time. It smacks of corruption, favouring the unbeaten fighter from start to finish.
I had it a draw but there one two close rounds which I gave to Fury which could have gone to McDermott. So anything like 97-93 McDermott, 96-94 McDermott or 95-95 is fine by me. But 98-92 Fury
