If Hughie can't beat Povetkin he's never going to be a serious contender.
Povetkin is 40 year old man.

Even though the fight probably stinks the place up it’s still an interesting and important fight

Povetkin will be practically 40 and out of the ring almost a year by fight time.

Fury will be catching him at a good time and with his style and home field advantage it would seem Fury has a chance here.

Still have to pick Povetkin, even an older inactive version is on a higher level than Fury.

I wonder if Hearn expects/wants Hughie to lose.

If Povetkin recovered well after the surgery and is 100%, he should win this comfortably. His stamina didn't look that good vs Joshua, but again, this is Hughie, so shouldn't be that much of an issue. Will be rooting for Povetkin, hope that he gets another shot at the title. It may be a bit too late, but he certainly brings it every time he steps into the ring. It's a shame that fight vs Wlad looked the way it did.

Apparently Povetkin was offered Tyson next but turned it down.. so there’s that.

It’s a no lose for Hearn. It’s an intriguing fight for one of his PPV cards and he can use whoever wins for another fight in the future.

He can do more with Hughie because he’s younger but can also use Povetkin for big fights.

Is this a troll post? He was fighting a journeyman. He always looks decent vs journeymen.

Not really. Many expected him to lose that one, pretty sure he was a dog as well. He boxed far better here than he did against Sokolowski and Zavorotnyi the only time he's gone the distance in 6 or more rounds. He went 6 and 10 in those and looked far worse in both. This was as good of a boxing display that he is capable of and let's be honest for British level it was a pretty damn good one.

If Alexander "as old as it gets" Povetkin still has stamina then yes.

Interesting fight. Peter Fury must believe they can beat Povetkin otherwise there's no way they'd risk another loss. I can understand why he took Parker and Pulev as the circumstances were a bit different.

I'd make Povetkin favourite personally but this is a really good addition to the card.
