All of these. Tyson is my guy. I want and think he will come out on top of the HW division, if they ever fight each other. But this is bull**** and sets the entire division back. He is one of the Big Three. No, he may not have a belt, but he is certainly at that status/level, and by taking sub top 50 opposition he is setting the division and his career back. I called out Wilder, who I also like, when he was facing the likes of shot Arreola. Now Fury is doing even worse.

There is really no rational argument in favor of this. He needs time and tune ups? A sub top 50 opponent is not going to help him shed rust. Fight Rivas or Jennings, a very understandable and interesting match against top 15ish opponents, where he would still be the overwhelming favorite but he would get meaningful work in. He needs to build his profile? No one will watch this fight. Maybe if it was on general ESPN. But I won't get ESPN + for this fight. I would have to see him fight any remotely fringe contender like Rivas and Jennings. When a Fury fan like me won't bother with a $5 subscription, you know it means trouble. The buzz on this fight is absolutely terrible because everyone in the know knows its such a terrible fight, which invariably affects casual interest. It will bring in no new viewers and not help his profile at all. I honestly think Arum is senile at this point. This pathway looks to have him frozen out of meaningful fights and his contract dumped unless ESPN was stupid enough to leave themselves no wiggle room, which is unimaginable. @Loudon , I'm not going to get in a pointless, repetitive debate with you, but seriously, there are no arguments for this being a justifiable fight.

True, Fury doesn’t accept 25% and is past needing to be in a mandatory spot but it does give him leverage

Hearn takes a risk going against Arum and ESPN in a purse bid A deal Is probably made to avoid it.

I don’t know if Hearn is in any hurry to face Fury unless he has to.

Not sure if Joshua is the route Fury is going but being a mandatory can only help if a Joshua match up is his target.

Hughie Fury might pay for it, but only in hopin to see his bro get starched so he can get revenge and launch a K bro style tagteam reign of terror.

Like I said in the other thread, there's no need for anyone to get upset.

He's signed with ESPN for 5 fights, with the hope of fighting Wilder and AJ. That's what ESPN, Warren and Arum all want.

    Let him fight Schwarz.

    What's the big deal?

    It's just one fight.

How on earth can it set the division back, when AJ is fighting Miller and Wilder is fighting Breazeale?

Its one fight, that took 6 months to make, i.e. a waste of 6 months. That time is precious in both his career and the division. Miller and Big Dom are top 10-15 HWs. If Fury was fighting Jennings or Rivas, I'd have no problem with it. Fury may as well not even fight as fight against a complete nobody, sub top 50 HW like Schwartz. Except its even worse because it hurts his credibility. **** poor ESPN + numbers will augur and influence further bad rating and decreased leverage.

I won't pay but i'll watch the GOAT do his work.

If you'd like me to read out all the "filler" "keep busy" fights out from the resumes of every HW champion to have ever graced the ring in history then i'll sure do it, oh and every weight for that matter. But it's even more clear at HW because of the class differences between the top and the guys just below them.

Don't act like Fury is doing something out of the ordinary & should be lamented by fightinga stiff. An unbeaten stiff mind you. All of them do it. Just look at Wilder's first last 39 fights LOL.

Just look at the bigger picture and be happy that he's back in the mix.

The HW division is much better and much more interesting with him as a part of it.

At one point, it looked as though we were never going to see him again.

Now he's signed up to fight 5 times.
