This could backfire bad. He should have took the proven root to Heavyweight comeback success 1. Mark De Mori 2. Arnold Gjejej 3. Tony Bell... . . .... Oh no. As you were Tyson
For those asking "who???" - this is the younger, not-quite-as-good brother of Nuri "The Albanian Tyson" Seferi, who fought a world title eliminator with Krzysztof Głowacki at cruiser in 2015 and became the first man to bring him the full 12 round distance (in arguably Głowacki's first major step up in class), and then a short time later fought on somewhat even terms with Firat Arslan (some felt he got robbed) in the main event of the same card where Charr fought his brother. Again, though Nuri >> Sefer. Were it Nuri that Fury was fighting it might be a vaguely risky choice despite him being a washed-up Euro-level 40-something.
No, but he's still a poor man's version of his brother and even Nuri (even versus a Tyson Fury off so long a layoff) in 2018 would be something like an 18/1 underdog.
Pretty sure Dave Allen could last 10 with Charr. Went 10 with Whyte no problem and was only stopped on his feet v Ortiz in the 7th (and was probably more clear headed than Wilder was in the 7th v Ortiz)
Really? I was expecting someone more like Dave Allen - no threat but a good workout and a chance for Fury to have a move around. This is very poor IMO. He's prob already had better prep in sparring and this is the kind of opponent Tyson would be all over twitter slating anyone else making a comeback for taking.
I guess it all depends on expectations, mine were pretty much rock bottom. BTW Fury has been sparring with Dave Allen in preparation for his return. He got given a black eye a few weeks ago, but Allen still says he's the best he's ever fought or sparred.
If Seferi wins, is he then the LINEAL HEAVYWEIGHT champion of the world? Will the clowns here in the forum argue he is the man that AJ and Wilder will need to beat in order to legitimize their claims?
Seferi is a tremendous talent. He actually had an undefeated record as an amateur. And won the National Swiss Amatuer Heavyweight Championships. The guy is no slouch by any means.
Basically, the guy is almost the worst you can get. But I'm okay with it. Fury has had a shitload of problems: Massive weight gain and drug problems Over 2.5 years out of the ring His lifelong trainer Peter leaving him So Fury really should start at the very bottom. However, if Fury has any problems with this guy, Fury should consider genuine retirement.
