He weighs 230 pounds, more than Wilder. He's a HW.

Parker wasn`t floored by AJ and is a fully fledged heavyweight, he also took Whyte`s shots better than Povetkin did.

The question is how does he carry that weight? How does he perform at that weight?

Do you remember Tomasz Adamek? He was an excellent LHW, a decent CW and a decidedly mediocre HW.

While he could put on weight, he just got slower and still couldn't hit hard enough to keep the really big guys off him.

That is the story behind most guys who try to move up.

The Holyfields and Clenelos are exceptions.

Isn't Whyte the same level as Chisora basically? Derek was robbed in the first fight and then he got points taken away in the 2nd when he was ahead on the scorecards which made him chase the KO but sadly ended up with him being KOed. People said we'll see where Usyk stand before he fought Chisora.

All 3 of Parker, Whyte and Chisora are around the same level, if they fought each other 10 times it's likely they'd be 5/5.

Based on how easily Usyk beat Chisora, he can be comfortably placed above Whyte, Parker and Chisora and we need to see him fight AJ and Fury now.

    Should be as expected.
    1. Parker is younger than even Usyk, not alone Povetkin. Whyte had in the ring 40 years 11 months old Povetkin almost legless version, sorry, Pove looked over the hill in 3 fights before fight vs A.J and he won these fights, still looked that legs are saying good buy there.
Next time Whyte had in the ring 41 years 6 months old post covid Povetkin.
Ppl here had posted " Jesus " after weight ins, not after fight.
    2. Povetkin is 222-224-225, max 228 lber in all his career as a pro boxer while Parker vs Chisora looks that was 241 lbs.
    3. Parker is < 30 and not fat, large, athletic dude, I had assumed that he does have more promising long term future at HW than Usyk cos Usyk is smaller and older, with long mileage in amateurs under belt vs good opposition and later in semi pros and pro ranks in unusually tough time for CW division.

Yeah, I had assumed that Parker, being young, not fat, athletic 240+ lber with good experience at high level will perform even better vs Chisora than Usyk did. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Adamek was a warrior but had 1/10th the skill that Usyk has.

I don't know about 1/10 but I get your point.

My point was not so much about their skills but what gaining weight did for their quickness, agility and power.

He had also mileage under belt when he moved up, when he was older, he moved up and then again.

From LHW till HW the gap is higher than from CW.
Modern CW boxers usually are at least 196.5lbs at weight ins, not rarerly 198-199.5 lbs.
If assuming that boxers like Huck ( aka approx 209 lbs dudes ) aren't too large in the ring for modern CW.

Usyk is not that young either.

I like Usyk. I appreciate his skills and they way he conducts himself.

I'm just not sold on him as a top heavyweight.

    Time will tell.

I had assumption that he should retire after WBSS1 and fight vs Bellew.
Today after these Whyte vs Pov fights and Chisora vs Parker & Ruiz vs Arreola, A.J vs Pulev I think even Wilder comeback might enrich division, not alone Usyk's presence.
    Ofc he isn't young anymore.
From these WBSS1 era boxers Huck and Briedis too aren't young, 36 today, ( approx 3 months age difference between these boxers ), Dorticos is 14 months younger than Briedis, only one from notable WBSS1 era CW boxers who now is <30 y.o is Murat.

With proper training it won't be problem but that remains to be seen. I don't think Adamek had the best training and he was never really that quick or agile, just had power and a good chin. If all Usyk has done to gain weight was to drink beer and eat ice cream then yeah, he's in trouble.

Usyk has looked mediocre at HW thus far. At his age he's not putting on 20-30lbs of muscle in a short time without gear.

It's only one picture but it looks like he just asked for seconds of thirds of Baba's varenyky.

Plus that`s much heavier than Holy was at heavyweight.
