God, the Matchroom brigade are gonna have meltdowns when they see the Fury/Wilder super card with Santa Cruz/GRJ & Davis/Mares on the undercard.

It's just gonna be a stream of "but, but, but they charge 80$ over there for PPV" in an attempt to justify Eddie's awful PPV cards.

Chisora/Takam was amazing. Whyte/Parker was good as well. Webb/Allen was god awful up until the knockout from nowhere.

Regardless, you can't judge PPV after the fact. Of course you can't. I've seen this argument many times before and it's such a fallacy. That was never a PPV card and Eddie got lucky that Chisora/Takam turned out to be a barnstormer when it could quite have easily been the opposite.

 

Well, I can get into a long-winded debate about why PPV exists, how it supports the fighters and the industry...

But the point was... if you are not tight and you are making a normal amount of money and you like boxing... the PPV's are good value. Matchroom and hearn have produced some great fights for British boxing, whyte/joshua, whyte/chisora... these are epic Gladiatorial events because the fighters show up and they put on a great show. Money well spent.

Today, I commonly see passing remarks llike "this aint PPV" worthy and "This guy aint top 5" ... funnily enough its from the same people that cant even name a top 5 or suggest WHAT is PPV worthy? Like one event a year yeah. Sure.

Anyways, to each their own.
