    According to Arum:

ESPN and FOX, which will co-distribute Fury-Wilder III on pay-per-view, will air various college football championship games that day. Their executives advised Arum, whose company co-promotes Fury, and Al Haymon, who represents Wilder, to change the date of their third encounter in part because it’d have a better chance to attract more buys on another date.

Arum told ESPN.com it is possible Fury-Wilder III could take place earlier in December, not necessarily early in 2021.

“We’re moving off [December 19] because there’s five conference championship games that day and night, plus two NFL games,” Arum said. “So, we can’t go with the 19th. We’re looking at other dates right now because ESPN advised us, and FOX advised PBC [Haymon’s company]. … We’re looking at the schedule – PBC, FOX, ESPN and us – to pick a date.”

Arum added Wednesday that the site of Fury-Wilder III won’t change.

“It’s definitely Allegiant Stadium,” Arum said. “The Raiders are on board, the city is on board, the [Las Vegas] Convention [& Visitors] Authority is on board. Everybody is on board.”

... In other words, get ready for an abbreviated six-week camp. (LOL)

I know old Bob is set in his ways, but this fight is the perfect bout to stage during the work week ... not on a weekend.

If Saturdays are too crowded, schedule it for a Monday night. A Wednesday night. A Friday night.

There would be zero demand for this fight

there’s no need for it for as Fury beat him decisively last time and had it been judge fairly, he would’ve won the first time too

no need for a third fight as we know who’s clearly the better man

And, of course, when someone wins decisively, they are never in danger of losing to that person again, right?

How many times did Marquez fight Pacquiao, and how many times did he get knocked down by Pac, before he finally won? By all rights, that series should've ended in the first round of fight one.

The Wilder-Fury rematch in February was the biggest fight of this year. Everyone involved believes the third fight will be huge, too, which is why they are all working to find an alternate date.

In a year with no major fights remaining on the horizon, this one is already signed.

You can wish it away, but they're going to fight. And either guy can win.

I've said it before and I will say it again. Wilder wants Fury to pay him step-aside money and get a shot at the winner of Fury/Joshua however as he and his team has mightily pissed off Matchroom, there is no way they give him access to Joshua without beating Fury first.

    Step-aside money? What? LOL.

According to Forbes Magazine: Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder split the purse for their second fight 50/50—with a $28 million dollar guarantee each. However, their deals also included points on the pay per view numbers which did pretty well. With the victory in the second match, Tyson Fury is set to receive 60 percent of the purse in their upcoming third fight.

You think Wilder is waiting for Fury's team to pay Wilder a $20 million+ step-aside fee so Wilder can wait two years for the Fury-Joshua winner?

What on earth do you base this on? And when has anyone paid someone more than $20 million to step aside? (LOL)

Wilder and Fury are signed. They have a deal. The purse splits are set. The venue is set. All they're waiting for is a date, because every sports schedule in the U.S. got reshuflled due to Covid.

You think all this was done as a ruse to get an eight-figure step-aside fee? Okay?

Wilder exercised his rematch clause because he wants to win the world title, he thinks he can win, and he'll pocket $20 million-plus win or lose.

    This isn't a step-aside fee scenario.

These two guys are going to fight again. I don't know why you are all in such denial.

And Wilder came within one point of winning a decision in fight one, not to mention coming within seconds of winning fight one by KO. Wilder has every reason to believe he can win the rubber match. He's had Fury on the deck as many times as Fury as had him on the deck.

And the $20+ million payday is good, too.

This is a historic heavyweight series. You should enjoy it rather than denying it's happening.

Agree to disagree with me but this is my perception of Wilder's options:

    1. Get Fury to agree to pay him step-aside money with a cast iron agreement for Fury to face him if Fury beats Joshua.
The advantage from Wilder's perspective is that it gives him the opportunity to knock over a couple of confidence building wins and work on some stuff for Fury. If Wilder fights Fury before the end of the year and loses as most expect, his career is over. There is no coming back from a second/third loss to Fury. If he avoids the Fury fight, it keeps his name relevant and gives him and PBC another couple of paydays with a guarantee of another Fury fight in the future.

    2. Fight Fury in December. This is fraught with danger as I give Wilder no more than a 30% chance of winning and as mentioned above, if he loses onces more as most people expect, his career is done. On another point, I think Wilder was totally unprepared for Fury's condition and strategy in the second fight. I think that mentally, he took a major blow as Fury did not respond as all of Wilder's previous opponents. Other than a bomb against a tiring Fury, I cannot see anyway Wilder wins.

    3. Drop the immediate rematch. This allows Wilder to work on the things that he needs to to put up a better contest against Fury, however, with this approach, there are no guarantees that Wilder ever sniffs a title fight again.

With regards to money, option 2 offers the greater immediate financial reward however at the likely cost of the end of a career. Wilder needs to determine what he wants to achieve going forward.

I would not criticise him if he simply wants to cash out against Fury but it goes against everything he has said in the past and I actually believe, that no matter how deluded you may think Wilder is, Wilder does want to be seen as a great champion, and that is something he cannot achieve without fighting the other two big names and winning.

Wilder's options? I feel like that was a post you typed last February.

Wilder weighed his options MONTHS AGO ... and Wilder chose to fight Fury again.

Wilder HAS exercised the rematch clause.
    The contracts ARE AGREED to.
    The purse splits ARE set.
    The venue IS SIGNED.
The promoters on both sides are just working with the venue and the networks to reschedule a date ... because all the other fall sports in the U.S. are rescheduling their dates because of Covid.

The fight is signed. They're just waiting on a new date. That's all. Just a date.

I just wish they would throw us a bone and let us know who Fury might be fighting instead. At least a short list of names.

I think even more than the belt it’s huge financial ramifications also.. Remember Andy Ruiz didn’t want to have that AJ rematch immediately but those contracts with rematch clauses attached are so ironclad you’ll literally bankrupt you career trying to get around it..

Oh how familiar this is. Remember when Wilder would not sign a contract because it had no explicit venue and date? I know I do.

Now a date is "just a date".

The winner of a 3 fight series between Joshua and Fury? We won't be seeing that until 2032 the way boxing is now.

If Wilder and his team were really fans of boxing they'd agree to step aside now to let a much bigger fight happen.

99% of people agree that Wilder has lost twice now vs Fury.

"115-111 Deontay Wilder" - Is literally the most ridiculous interpretation of a boxing fight ever recorded.

According to Bob Arum, Fury's promoter, Fury is defending his World heavyweight title against Deontay Wilder at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. That's the opponent - Deontay Wilder.

Fury will get 60 percent of the purse to Wilder's 40 percent, because Fury won the last fight.

Because the NFL and College Football (which had been called off for most of the country, but is now beginning again) have significant games scheduled that day, ESPN and Fox have asked Arum and Wilder's teams to move the date from December 19. So Fury and Wilder's teams are looking for other dates that month.

Arum said they may fight SOONER than Dec. 19.

There is no ALTERNATE opponent. Both sides are working to put this together because it is SIGNED and is the biggest fight that can be made right now.

Do they have to beat you guys over the head with it a thousand times before it sinks in?

The fight is signed. The location is set. Everyone involved wants the fight to take place because it's a big fight.

They are just looking for a new date because Covid scrambling all the sports schedules and the networks showing the fight asked for a new date so it can cover as many of the sporting events as they can.
