Don't really care either way because the fight that matters(Joshua) isn't happening anytime soon. Whether Fury beats up Wilder again or a different no hoper makes no difference to me.

I'm not nuts about it, but I get it. Too much money and the deal is done; it's going to happen.

Fury needs to move on. Wilder obviuosly not interested in fighting him just yet.

Dubs, you are starting to grow on me, really. But at some point, we have to talk real. Warren and Arum have both said that they don't think it is going to happen this year, and according to Warren and Fury, Wilder is not even responding to phone calls at the moment. Fury is opening talking about a new opponent. It is all over the internet.

I am not saying that it is DOA, but all parties are either openly acknowledging that it is unlikely, or they are silent.

If you want to push on believing that it is all on track, fine. I ain't mad at'cha. Maybe you are right. To be honest, I am more amendable to the fight than I was a few months back since no other A-lister will be available either. I would openly rather see a fresh face, even a solid B-lister like Kabeyal. But if it has to be a re-tread, Wilder is certainly the best of the bunch. And I certainly don't want to see another totally meaningless fight like Schwartz.

Agreed. There's more money for Fury in a series against Joshua, but not enough to also pay Wilder the sort of money that would make delaying that rematch worth his while. Besides, if AJ wins, why should he honour an agreement that Fury made? That would mean vacating at least one of the belts. Wilder's best shot is to enforce the rematch clause and hope he connects with that right hand. Outside of a judge saying the clause can't be enforced indefinitely I don't see this fight not happening.

Talk is cheap in boxing though. The clause may not preclude Fury from taking a warmup, although I'm not sure how that works if there's a shock defeat.

The one thing which could've thrown a curve ball in this and given Hearn and Arum leverage, would've been if Whyte had beaten Povetkin and the WBC had been forced into pushing that mandatory. That's proved to be a very costly defeat for more than Whyte.

No sympathy from me with both of these frauds. They were both offered career high paydays from Hearn to fight AJ and they both turned them down to fight each other instead. Then they had all these ridiculous rematch clauses in the contract and now they are stuck to each other. Fury wants to fight another bum like Wallin but he can't because of the contract. Wilder is holding the fight hostage and his silence is not helping the cause hahaha. They are at least smart enough to know that the fight won't sell that well so fighting behind closed doors isn't an option so what do they do? **** and moan for months and then they will fight next year. Both will be rusty and the fight won't make even half as much money as they anticipated. They only have each other to blame and none of you should feel sorry for them because they put themselves there. Fight behind closed doors like most of the other boxers are soong and move o . But nope, they will drag this out and one way or another, it's going to get ugly.

you do realize that fury and wilder fighting each other twice trumps anything AJ has done, right?
there have been 3 major players at HW in recent years, AJ couldn't make it happen, but fury could....twice!

    Not really.

Boxing matches are taking place around the world. So there’s no argument to be made that it’s not possible to stage the fight, although depending on the guarantees it might not be profitable — but the rematch clause doesn’t guarantee a promoter to make a profit.

At whatever point Fury could fight AJ or anyone else, he could fight Wilder instead and thus the rematch clause can be invoked at that time.

I don’t see COVID as a way for Fury’s side to stand before a judge and say, ‘We cannot fight him at this time it we can fight someone else.’

Riiiight. Hahaha. These two clowns fought each other to spite AJ and Hearn. Both turned down career high paydays and neither can sell out a soccer stadium or get over a million PPV buys. Fury is a steroid cheat and both enjoy beating bums and avoiding the rest of the best heavyweights. Try again.

Pretty much confirmed today from Arum and Warren that the contract is set to expire, and it isn't going to happen.

The only question now is, who will Fury fight in December.

My four psychic guesses are still Kabayel, Milas, Romanov, and Huck.

Fury will definitely fight a bum and look less than impressive to con Joshua into taking his eye off the prize

I wonder of Tyson and Hughie would fight each other.

I would think that would be a bit sad.

My guess would be Milas. Huck and Romanov are a bit too dangerous, even at this stage, and Kabayel has the potential to make Fury look bad again.
