Probably Holmes vs Shavers; that shot would have killed a horse. I think Holmes himself said the right hand knocked him out and hitting the canvas woke him back up again.

I heard him say it that Shavers hit him so hard he knocked him out and woke him back up with the same punch.

For me it's Coralles vs Castillo because of what he did after he got knocked down.

Holmes got up, but was REAL bad off. He didn't recover until after the break between rounds. Shavers was just a terrible finisher and Holmes had great survival instincts, so he managed to make it to the end of the round.

Fury? He got up and got right back at it. His recovery ability is insane.

In fairness, that was a flash knockdown during a fight he was dominating. It was ONE punch. He'd taken very little damage that fight. Him getting up and being ok wasn't all that crazy given how the fight had gone.

You are not wrong, but I think the shot Holmes was hit with was so much heavier. It is all hypothetical, but I think if Fury got hit with the same shot that Holmes got hit with, he would not make the count and if he did he would be in no condition to continue.

Given Fury's career, honestly, I don't know how you can say that. He's been knocked down plenty. He ALWAYS gets right up, ALWAYS gets right back at it.

Again you are not wrong, but he has never felt a shot like Holmes did against Shavers. The shot closest aesthetically to the one Holmes took was probably the one Paul Williams took against Sergio Martinez, and he was out cold like someone had just injected him with 10 mg Midazolam. Again it is all hypothetical, but I just don't think you can compare the shots Fury took in Wilder I against the one Holmes took vs Shavers; the only comparable incidence where a fighter took a shot like that and got up was probably the left hook Ali got up from in the first Frazier fight.

Idk about greatest recovery but off the top of my head it was probably the most memorable for me because it looked like he was dead. Then, as if a scene out of a movie, it looked like his soul re-entered his body and his eyes popped back open as he sprung back to life.

But, there are some amazing recoveries throughout boxings history. George Foreman vs Ron Lyle comes to mind, quite a display on both sides. I’m sure more will come to mind later, enjoyable question.

Probably Holmes v Shavers for me. But Fury, for all his faults, did produce an amazing comeback here.

Pretty sure that’s exactly what happened to Ruddock after that Morrison Hydrogen bomb left hook. Because he was OUT after that shot landed lol

It's the story that goes with it

This is a moment in boxing history which will never be forgotten, the day when everyone said "How did Fury get back up?" Sheer ****ing will that's how.
