This content is protected Lovely stuff to see. Fight hard in the ring but show complete respect and humanity outside the ring.
Yes, the way he embraced Chisora post fight Wilder in the ring post fight, it showed he respects the game of boxing.
Lol i contrast this with Lennox Lewis behavior at the end of the Vitali fight "Look at the state of his face". Fury had more right to be aggrieved after the end of the Wilder fight but he showed complete professionalism on the night and did not refuse post fight interviews whereas Lenny after Holyfield 1 stormed out of the ring in disgust and didn't even bother giving a post fight interview.
Fury will put him on as a supporting fight for the WBO Germania title for his next headline, as a reward for playing along like a good boy.
He is a competitor, when someone wins a competitive fight they naturally want the praise that goes with. To be honest I miss the days of Ali, Tyson, Hamed, Mayweather and all the trash talking. That is entertainment. Today, most of you "fans" want limp-wristed, "humble", boring guys are as your source of entertainment. Sorry, that doesn't make for good viewing.
If you love the sport of boxing, I would think that most fans would be satisfied with just getting a good/great fight without all the fake theatrics(Gatti vs Ward). I'm not sure that the staged pushing contests during the face offs or pre fight press conference is really all that exciting. Take the Mcgregor/Mayweather world tour for example, what a completely embarrassing fiasco. At the end of the day I guess it all hinges on your preference.
I took it that he got offended by 1. Klitschko pouting and shouting NO over and over as if it was going to change the outcome. Then 2. Merchant went on a tangent to which Lennox had a perplexed look and rebutted :What do you mean? Look at the state of his face? It was as if Merchant was asking Lennox to say he got outpunched, jabbed, thus saved by the ref who stopped it.
Thank you for posting. True model of sportsmanship and respect in a world that seems to have forgotten those qualities.
