Heard this myself but where could it go ? Its too big a fight for the stadium and too small for the 02
I have seen this being said A LOT that being the case, I will be hoping for a lot of praise for Fury if he pulls out the victory But what I will be expecting is "Chagaev was old, small, shot, had aids and was never any good anyway"
Good fight. Whilst Chagaev is way past his physical prime, is fat and unfit, however he is a very skilled guy and in the last fight, the timing on his punches is still there.
Great fight for TV which I'd see Fury shading. Probably would happen in Ireland as Fury's TV deal might not allow for "overseas" fights at this stage. Dublin would be an excellent choice IMO. Alas I still think he'll fight someone in the top 20 next and bide his time. I doubt DeGale will fight on Fury's undercards as Henessey will want two duos to head up his cards. So it'll be Fury/Eubank Jr and DeGale/Galahad.
Know this is a bit late but just seen Fury on Britishboxers.Think he came across really well as did his uncle. Not sure itll come off but would be the fight to project him into where he probably wants to be ie knocking on the door.He beat Chisora and Matt Skelton did ok with Chagaev,so why not?Think he can win.Along with Price stacks of potential, and another British heavy hot on their heels soon.
This content is protected Fights today does Chagaev against a genuine trash can and he looks in decent shape if nothing else from this picture. If the Fury fight does come off he could cause him some serious problems coming in around this condition.
looks soft to me. ok he's not a blobby fat ******* but hardly an elite athlete. regardless, Fury would do him anway.
Just out of interest mate, how good do you believe Fury could be? Afterall, you could hardly claim that Tyson looks like an 'elite athlete' himself.
I think Fury could be a potential world champion. IF he sorts his conditioning out, which he is currently making good progress with. at 6'9" 250lb's he will be the biggest man operating at elite level. Combine to that he has remarkable nimbleness for such a massive bloke, can use both hands, fight inside and out, decent enough power, able to take a shot if needed. To be honest I think right now he could beat a guy like Adamek, on size alone. He's bigger than Grant and Mcbride, and not a ****ing statue decades past his prime. Adamek wasn't even impressive against those guys. If the kid tightens up his skills and gets his conditioning to the elite level, he WILL be a force. personally i'm glad that Price and Fury didnt fight yet, lets have them fight when they both hold world titles, The twin towers, back at Wembley for one night only you don't see young unbeaten american prospects fight each other, so why should ours cancel each other out? stiff mitchell and detony windmiller ain't fighting each other. Price will get rid of stiff, fury can ko windmiller. our boys are the future embrace it celebrate it
I can see where your coming from with regards to his movement for a big man, and im not disputing that he has something special about him. However, i can't shake the image of Pajkic putting him down. Neven arguably has one of the worst punching techniques iv'e ever witnessed, you can see it coming a mile off. I really hope Fury realises his undoubted potential, but i'm still sceptical at this point, despite his recent improvement in performance against what must go down as limited opposition.
