Fury vs Joshua! Let's be real....

Is Fury's chin really that better than Joshua's? Fury has been down eight times in his career. wheraes AJ has gone down nine times. The punch resistance difference between both isn't as big as people make it out to be. The advantage Fury has is his recovery after getting knocked down - physically and psychologically.

 

I think Fury would beat AJ at any stage of their careers but AJ is no bum. AJ has won Olympic gold and multiple world titles.

If AJ is a bum, what is the baseline of not being a bum? If you are not absolute elite level, does that make you a bum?

Given AJ's achievements in boxing, I see him as world class level. The same level that I would place Fury at.

 

It feels embarrassing that AJ has been a world champion and in his mid 30s he finds a daddy that’s teaching him how to box.

The difference between them isn’t that much though apart from Fury’s recovery powers, I think Ruiz could have been a big problem for Fury as well if he laid off the burritos

 

I'd have to always given Joshua the slight edge...

Joshua has the stronger resume (especially in depth) and doesn't have the asterisks that Fury has.

It would always have been competitive - but especially as they age and slow down, Joshua's massively superior power and tendency to stay closer to decent shape make it a bigger uphill battle for Fury, IMHO.

 

I've always found it amusing that Ruiz gets dismissed as a bum who had a couple of flukey good nights, whilst Fury is a borderline God who got lazy often.

It's funny, really - Ruiz at his absolute best was a great fighter, it's just that it was rare that we saw it... But the same is true for Fury - his absolute best was excellent, but we only really saw it 2 or 3 times.

It's just funny how some fighters get constant benefit of the doubt while others don't.

 

I’m not liking this because I agree with it per-say (although I don’t think its a bad prediction); rather that this was some enjoyable creative writing…. you’ve got a knack for that!

 

I find it almost impossible to judge where either man is currently at. AJ has had one real test since his second Usyk loss where he was battered by Dubois.

Fury has reverted to type with another ridiculous lay off and the fire may no longer be there, given he has been proven to not be the top man of his generation.

I suspect the fight may happen, and we will see that one of them has fallen off a cliff and we end up with a very lop sided fight. Which way that is, I cannot predict.

 

Both of their chins are definitely a bit suspect but the difference is Fury's survival and recuperative powers are better.

For example if Joshua got hit clean by Wilder I think he'd be in a haze for the rest of the fight.

Ruiz decided after his 15 minutes of fame against Joshua to turn up in even more out of shape in the rematch and give away his belt plodding to a 12 rounds to 0 decision loss.

Trying to conjure a comparison to Fury and Ruiz because you hate Fury and then try to proclaim Ruiz as a great fighter is absolutely baffling.

I don't even like Fury but this is ridiculous.

AJ was gifted a gold medal after robbing not one BUT TWO more deserving boxers out of a gold medal IN THE UK and spent his whole career beating up 40 year old men and going 6 rounds with a youtuber!

Good fighter definitely, great is one hell of a stretch

 

Yeah that's main advantage in terms of durability that he has over AJ. Both can be hurt and dropped fairly easily, but Fury has great recovery and more mental toughness than AJ.
