Not yet but he completely shut out Johnson,Vitali esque. The man can do nothing right though,he's still a bum in the eyes of Price fans atsch
Then you really have my sympathy. I was actually going to run upstairs and start a thread when Johnston threw a punch but though someone else may have spotted it.
What were you expecting? Surely it went the way everyone thought it would- Johnson is no threat to any capable fighter with his lack of power and refusal to throw punches, and Fury did what he had to by winning it behind his jab. Everyone knew he didn't have the power to hurt Johnson so it was always going to go 12 rounds too. Good win for Fury but nothing out of the ordinary.
Dull or not, the fight indicated that Fury is taking things seriously and his fitness was very impressive considering where he is coming from in that area. Would previously have fancied Price heavily against him but not so sure now. We haven't seen Price have to tough out any of his recent fights or take a dig, which Fury has shown he is capable of doing in the past when he was horribly unfit. His corner did a great job with his uncle offering the kind of calm advice that Cleverly's old man is incapable of giving to his son. The booing was clearly getting to Fury but was impressed how he listened to his corner and made a professional job of an incredibly durable opponent.
I thought Fury looked lively throughout the fight and prepared to throw. Couple of things.... he landed enough but had no effect - none - on Johnson. I know Johnson has a granite head, but a 6'9 heavyweight teeing off for 12 rounds having no visible effect at any point....? What is Furys power like? I think although he was sticking to a gameplan there is something fundamentally unorganized about Furys work, I'd have either Klitchko winning by KO fairly early on. I was dissapointed with Johnson who had one of those nights that you sometimes see in heavyweight fights. You know the ones, where a fighter goes 12 rounds and at the end of it you can't clearly recall him throwing a single punch even though you feel sure they must have thrown one or two. It kind of makes you wonder how the fighter got to the 'top of the tree' in the first place. I don't want to be unfair to him, but that's how I saw it.
Stop watching boxing then. skelton got stopped by Martin Rogan years ago The same Martin Rogan fury gets **** for massacring
Johnson had problems letting his hands go, because Fury was nearly always out of range. That's the benefits of being so tall and lanky. Fury can throw dozens of punches from a distance, and still reach his target. He's still going to lose when he does actually fight someone his own size. Whether it be Klitshko or Price, maybe even Wach. Fury won't always have his physical advantages in every fight.
Fury might outwork Wach, but i just think Fury's chin is too suspect. The punches that Wach hurt Wlad with, i don't think Tyson would have survived that.
