By any interpretation of how a fight is scored or by the eye test the fight was very close and only a marginal win for Fury but a win nonetheless. What absolutely isn’t in dispute is that it was one of the worst fights in Heavyweight boxing history, a sloppy, frustrating bore fest and certainly not entertaining!
https://www.boxing247.com/klitschkovsPuritty.html Purity, sensing the upset, came out for the tenth offensive-minded and tagged Vlad with a few good shots, one of them catching Vlad on the back of his head and prompting the referee to warn Purity. Vlad was quickly running out of gas and the end was nigh. 13 seconds before the bell Vlad went down. This wasn’t caused by a clean punch, but rather by his legs refusing to support the exhausted fighter. He bravely got up by the count of three (it wasn’t really necessary) and survived the round. A few seconds into round 11 Purity exploded with a seven-punch combo with most of his punches reaching the target. Amazingly, Vlad was still standing right in front of his tormentor.
I wouldn't be able to watch this all the way trough. Too much of a stinker, in which litterally nothing happened. People who use the words schooling for this, really have no idea what they were watching. To be completely fair, I had no idea what I was watching either, as it didn't really resemble boxing up until the last round.
Post your rounds and I'll debunk that because that is absolute trash bull****. You don't win rounds feinting, getting hit with cleaner jabs. This was a very close fight
Lmao. I put my self through that suffering.. One or two rounds were decent.. The rest were just shite, Furys feinting was good but he was barely landing anything. A lot of his punches were also landed clearly on the inside of the glove
If anyone thinks this is a wide decision / schooling, please watch the fight and post your rounds... Watching the fight in itself is a struggle, having to actual score the fight is even more of a struggle.
Get away man I was there almost ringside. It was obvious everyone there was saying even the German fans seemed in shock. Fury won the first 9 round clearly 10 was close and he coasted the last 2. I think Klitschko made a bit of a move in the last round and Fury snapped straight back at him but that was a Klitschko round. It wasn't a close fight at all. I even remember there because the decision took a while to announce everyone was in agreement that Fury had clearly won, with people saying surely this was too wide to rob him. Klitschko wasn't getting off on him very often at all.
This fight was so painful to watch. One of the only close fights in my memory in which I was thankful they never had a rematch. It made me hate Fury for a long time. He’s a different fighter these days but I will definitely never watch but again. For the record, I was happy to see him win. I hope the AJ vs. Fury is not like this one. If it is, I will not watch the rematch, even for free. Even if you paid me to watch (depending on the amount of course but I won’t watch it for less than $500). Okay, $100, with free beer and wings. I’ll gladly watch the boring rematch if free beer and wings are included. I love wings.
Sorry mate you either have selective memory or don't understand that boxing is about punches landing and not feinting and showboating (or both) First 9 rounds TO Fury, are you taking the ****? Round 2 was very damn close and you can easily score to Klitschko for imo, the more damaging, cleaner blows. Rounds 4, 5, 8 Klitschko won and outlanded Fury with better + cleaner punches.
Fury ran away with this fight...uhm walked briskly away...uhm walks at a normal pace while Wlad was limping...no... Fury was standing still while Wlad was moonwalking backwards. Either way, Fury won clearly won most of the rounds.
