The fight will be absolutely one-sided, excuses like Fury has been out of the ring for too long are nonsense, Makhmudov is bad, he struggled with Allen, Fury needs to have a better fighter as an opponent...
That's exactly what everyone said about Ngannou. You underestimate Tyson Fury, he can screw anything up.
This is true. And, ironically, it's why it'll sell even if he's looking like crap - you can't help but pay attention in anticipation of something unexpected happening.
Simple, don't pay the ppv. Fury doesn't need the funding and I hope makhmudov gets a good flat fee. Watch it on youtube the next day. Apart from that it was obvious he would take a tune up fight, but also needs to build some excitement and wants to earn money with it. I hope makhmudov surprises him. He is a bit awkward on offense and is strong. That gave fury problems against ngannou. And who knows what shape fury is...
Fury will Jab Makhmudov's head for as long as it takes, there is only one possible outcome in this fight...
It's not a PPV so that's a bonus And it's a perfectly acceptable fight considering all aspects involved
It's not supposed to be a competative fight It's a warm up and it's not pointless from that perspective...will get his warm ready for his demolition job on the bodybuilder or Wardley...but Fury wants a Usyk trilogy...which I suspect is the end of year plan.
Terry Norris as WBC IBF Jr middleweight champion fought and KOd 22-13-1 Joaquin Velasquez on the undercard of a nothing ESPN card because he was out of the ring for 7 months. That was a warmup to shake the rust off This is a major headline card bilking the public to think it's a warmup. It's just another way to get a decent payday while fighting someone several levels below you, Fury isn't the only one guilty of this
Fury is 37 now, so a long layoff kinda matters at this point. Also, he was "retired". Makhmudov is a decent fight for a tuneup/comeback, if Fury takes on a higher ranked opponent shortly afterwards. Fury last won a fight in 2023, which was controversial.
Fury barely won against Wallin and Ngannou. Makhmudov really isn't worse than those, is he? If anything, it's possibly tougher fight on paper than I expected. Makhmudov is better than Sefer Seferi or a washed up Pianeta or Tom Schwarz.
