Fury vs Povetkin at Madison Square Garden?

    TYSON FURY will tell WBA champ Alexander Povetkin to put his title where his mouth is at Madison Square Garden on St Patrick’s Day.
    Fury is livid at Povetkin’s accusations he ducked the Russian to successfully defend his Commonwealth heavyweight title by stopping Neven Pajkic in three rounds on Saturday night.




    But promoter Mick Hennessy has booked the Garden for Fury’s US debut on March 17, and the 23-year-old said: “I’d fight Povetkin no problem – what a night that could be for me with my Irish roots.
    “I believe I can beat anyone in the world.”

    Why not! I'd be happy to see it. If Tyson's focused and in shape he'd give Povetkin a damn fight. Half the time with Tyson it's his mentality. Last night the first round looked like he couldn't be asked to be in there. Then he woke up when floored and dealt with Pajkic.

    I highly doubt that Fury will fight anyone significant at MSG this March. He is not ready for world class (or even semi-world class) opposition, and his managers know it. As for Povetkin, he'd be way, way too much for Fury at this point.

    Fury needs at least another year of development against cannon fodder before he steps up to the world level.

    I can see David Haye coming back to face Tyson Fury, that fight would be massive! with Tyson Fury boxing on Channel 5. he's starting to get interest from average joes.
