This will sell out and be a success unfortunately. It's Fury's time now and he's taking full advantage.

Agree. I hate making anecdotal comments but most of my pals, who would watch PPVs (paid or otherwise) and all AJ fights, now refer to "the big robot" when he's fighting - but would never miss Fury.

There are enough casual fans that don't know or care about the Usyk saga who will buy into any Fury fight, especially against "that wee fat guy who knocked out the big robot". Incidentally the whole "robot" thing started after Ruiz II so it's kinda apt.

A lot of casuals aren't aware of Fury's bullsh!t so they think he's some kind of hero of the people, the greatest heavyweight of all time, the mental health champion etc. we all know very differently. It's a real shame that he's carried on this way since the third Wilder fight, he seems to have little interest in testing himself against the best unless he earns insane amounts more than his opponent. Fighting Man.

Ruiz is widely known in uk after aj, fight easily d sells out in a summertime stadium show and probably won’t even have a decent undercard

Only a very small percentage of the general public knows/cares about the details with the Usyk fight. It’s boxing fans like us who are pissed, but it’s not of any big consequence.

Nobody bought tickets for Chisora - not even his own mother gave him a chance of landing a glove on Fury.

Fury is mainstream and this fight will also be around the time as the cxxt has a big Netflix documentary coming out.

We can go around in circles, but the simple fact is Wembley will be sold out and it’s not even really a debate.

Can’t disagree with any of that, he sold out the Spurs stadium in December he won’t struggle to do Wembley in July

Wel have to agree to disagree - cute that you already have the Netflix doc pencilled in though, that is some strong hate

So the narrative that he ducked the Usyk fight over money has just been smashed to bits then.

No one can tell me he is getting more for fighting AJs sloppy seconds than for fighting the world champion from Ukraine with nearly all the marbles.

Usyk vs Fury is the biggest fight out there right now. Ruiz Jr hasn’t been motivated to box since the first AJ fight and he hasn’t been an elite HW since then either.

    Yep.

Fury will claim a ‘win’ over AJ now just based on beating a more shot version of Ruiz Jr better than AJ did.

Why don’t they just fight each other?

Why aren’t the promoters demanding this?

They leave the bigger payday for later figuring the numbers are only going to go up. Can't fight in Arabia in the summer so the knack will be fighting someone with sufficient name recognition without risking a Joe Joyce scenario. As a former unified champion Ruiz is at least more credible than Pulev.

All these fights are doing is taking the top guys further away from their primes as they wait to fight each other, terrible for the sport.

    Fury - Past his prime
    AJ - Past his prime
Usyk - Probably past his prime
Wilder - Probably past his prime
Joyce - The myth has been exposed
Ruiz Jnr - Dropped by an ancient Arreola and struggled with a Mr Dead (Ortiz)
    Parker - Crap
    Whyte - Shot
    Dubois - Crap
    Hrgovic - Average
Zhang - Jury still out for me
    Chisora - Please, no more

The division is in a bigger mess than it ever needed to be and all largely down to one idiot and some of his stupid family.

I’d actually prefer to see Fury vs Zhang than Ruiz but of course I’ll watch either. Either is more interesting than Usyk playing with Dubois in my opinion.
