Watching the Fury-Whyte live open workout show on YouTube and Frank Warren has just stated that he believes Tyson Fury could mix it with the greatest heavyweights of all time. Obviously as his promoter he’s going to say that but I agree with him. I don’t believe he beats all of the greats but he could definitely hang with them. He could beat the likes of Holyfield, Joe Louis, Marciano (due to size).

Ali, Lennox, Holmes are the ones he’d struggle with the most.

Give me some of the greats you believe he’d beat and some of the greats you are sure would beat him…

Fury could have been a lot better than he was but he didn't take training seriously enough and chose to drink, do drugs and eat cheeseburgers too often.

Fury is a great fantasy h2h match up till he gets beat.
If Whyte ko's him for example revisionism will make it so that he was exposed and his achievements vs Wlad and Wilder will be downplayed.
E.g. wlad was old and Wilder cant fight.
So post comeback he only fought Wilder, get kd 4 times and went life and death with Wallin.
Before breakdown he was unfocussed and chinny.
His h2h fantasy status would go from Vitali type levels to the likes of Patterson or Frank Bruno.

Not if you don’t let being a fan of someone cloud your judgement. I’m a bigger fan of Dereck Chisora than George Foreman, but I wouldn’t pick Chisora to beat him :bump

The only great all time heavyweight I'm picking Fury against is the one he actually beat Wladimir. I would not pick him to beat any other truly great heavyweight of the past. Yes he has a size advantage but they were better fighters and I'm not disadvantaging them due to evolution!

How many fighters with Fury's collection of attributes (gigantic size, athleticism, skills, ambidexterity, fighting instincts, toughness, composure, determination, vast experience of different styles/body types) did "the greats" of the pre-global eras beat? All of them (barring Marciano ofc, who fought in a LHW era anyway) lost to far less complete fighters than Fury.

Fury also has the scientific and technological advantages of being born in a later era which they can never have, which by the nature of time future heavyweights will have over Fury. Fury can and has studied the likes of Ali and Holmes extensively but they could never study him, which makes it even more of a mismatch.

He definitely beats Tommy Burns and Marvin Hart. Aside from those guys, not many others. Maybe Braddock or Floyd Patterson.

Wlad was old and Wilder can't fight. I've been saying that from the jump. If I'm wrong, name 5 other HW greats whose best wins are equal to or worse than Fury's.
That being said, a ready, steady Fury gives hell to all the HW greats.

How about Ali and his losses and numerous knockdowns from bums?

That's not how evolution in boxing works. If you are asserting that merely era determines who's better then you know very little about boxing.
I can only assume you are trolling.

You obviously havnt read many of his other posts. Keep reading them and soon enough you will see one where he will have some insane triangle theory which proves that Wilder is the greatest champion of all time.

Yeah I've seen a couple where Fury and Wilder are GOATS and therefore smash everyone else in history. The problem is with that fallacy is once you take them fighting each other out there's nothing left as the resumes are paper thin anyway. Wilder always was crap and fought c level fighters until he fought Fury.

He has the tools to beat a lot of great fighters to be honest. I'm not sure he could maintain the consistency to do it repeatedly though and he doesn't stay active enough. I can't see how someone like Marciano beats him, too much size advantage.
