Do you know what split Usyk got in the first fight and what split he got in the rematch against AJ? Failure to answer proves you haven't a clue, just like me.
No surprise as date 29th April date would have been super soon for a megafight that still has not been signed. Generally, there are a lot of good potential matchups but nothing gets made. Guys like Joshua, Andy Ruiz, Wilder do not want to fight. I am not too sur about Joyce either. It seems like we are going back to the dark ages of the division
So Usyk was easy to deal with because he gave in to all of AJs demands. Thats what I expected. Obviously he he can demand a lot more now , but that wasn't the point spahghddrteyv was making.
Its as simple as this, if you are Fury, you've been looking at this guy Usyk. Watching his previous fights, looking at his training video's and thinking, this fighter is good, in fact he is very good. Thinking I have never been up against anyone who can move, box, pull other fighters apart like he does. This guy starts slow, watches and learns everything he needs to know about his opponent inside the first 5 or 6 rounds. He then goes on and exploits their every weekness. He is a chess player inside the ring, an artist that has yet to paint his masterpiece, Fury deep down knows this could be the trickiest most difficult fight of his life. He doesn't have the mental agility or skills to match this fighter. It appears that Mr Fury may have been already beaten outside of the ring by his own mind games, the same mind games he has used so many times on previous opponents. Except this time the opponent is far to intelligent to fall for it. All of that before he takes into account the physical fitness. Mr Fury, I really don't think you want this and you never have.
What is this obsession with purse percentages? We are talking about the track record of credibility of Warren vs Krassyuk here.
Big difference here is Usyk brings belts to the table - 70/30 in the first fight and 50/50 in the second find seems fair.
Tell you what the backlash on Fury if this falls through will be enormous. He'd go from selling out stadiums for a fight with Chisora to possibly not having any fans left. The brand and reputational damage will be enormous. Even his most ardent defenders (I was one of them) are completely disillusioned. They should have kept that in mind during these negotiations.
The first fight for all belts at HW for almost 25 years. Between two undefeated and highly rated fighters, Usyk even being a top p4p guy. I don't see why this kind of unorthodox marketing, which makes Fury look like a whiny entitled coward, would be needed. A simpler explanation, and thereby likelier going by Occam's razor, is that Usyk's camp is bending over already to make this happen and therefore are at their breaking point concerning any new demand. If the 70-30 is correct, then Usyk has already agreed to outrageous demands. More must be hard to stomach.
