Fury vs Vitali : resume

That list is absurd. Vitali was unquestionably one of the two best HW's of a long era (2004-2012). There are fighters in that list who were the 5th or 6th best of their era, at best (Cleveland Williams mayb have been 7). Its a joke piece.

His resume was great, comparing his accomplishments to others, for the reasons I listed above. You can say he failed in his attempt to take the mantle from Lennox, and certainly, Lennox deserves a higher rating for that reason. But no dominant champ has ever been beaten during their dominant title streak and replaced by another dominant champ (ie champ with 4 or more wins). Most "great wins" of one great over another have come after the old great already lost their belts (Marciano Louis, Holmes Ali, Tyson Holmes).

 

Except I've spelled out exactly why it makes sense. You don't (can't). I'm no fan boy. I just evaluate things rationally, and I don't care for the conventional wisdom that pops up on these boards on various topics. Vitali's resume is strong historically. I've never seen a good argument for why he isn't at least top 15. But only his haters put him below top 25.

 

Once you actually have any appreciation for reality, please come back to this thread. Until then :hi:

 

If he came back and beat Fury, few people would argue that he wasn't top 10 ATG at that point. He'd pull himself above his brother, who is still largely considered top 10 ATG.
