Vitali seems the type who gets really annoyed really quickly so he either blasts Fury out quickly or Fury annoys the hell out of him and has success countering and defending. Vitali's attack never really varied, just his tempo. If Fury could time that then it could be a hard night's work for Vitali.
You can’t write Fury off. He’s self belief and confidence gives him a chance h2h against any heavy. I would back him to win a UD
I'm one of Vitali's biggest (reasonable) fans on here. I proudly rate him at #10 in legacy as a HW ATG and defend the position, unlike most of his so called fans. And I'd still probably rank him as the GOAT in terms of H2H if I had to pick one HW. But I have to admit, I'm not very sure anymore about him v Fury. On the positive, Vitali is one of the highest volume hws of all time; he's set CompuBox records. And he's aggressive and doesn't mind missing, or taking a punch to land one. And he'd be the tallest high level opponent Fury has ever had, though still no quite as tall as Fury. I'd still say that that combination is probably adequately suited to taking out Fury. I'd pick him at the end of the day. But Fury is a master gameplanner. He's still a bit bigger than Vit. And while an injured Vitali was beating Byrd comfortably, and set blanked Kevin Johnson, setting CompuBox records while doing so, he's looked uncomfortable against movement/defense heavy fighters at times. This one would be bigger than him with insane energy. I can't rule a Fury win out.
Vitali's strength, size, power, physicality, tenacity and abrasive bellicose attitude to his opponent would give Fury nightmares. He's not a nice guy in there, unlike his bro ( in Boxing terms but also less passive personally). He has a nasty, vicious streak, that again Wlad lacks. You don't toy with Vitali Klitschko. Both skill and mega power required to beat prime Vitali. Fury has one of those. All with due respect to Tysons' immense guts, savvy and skill
I pick Fury to win, since he's actually won against top opponents. I don't think Vitali has a great style to beat Fury either. Plus everyone said Wlad hit much harder than Vitali. Either way I think this is going to the cards.
Vitali is a straight 1-2 puncher who can only hit whats right in front of him. Fury is a horrible match-up stylistically - angles , lateral movement , switch hitting. Longer reach , better jab. Rangier and better on the inside as well. He'd box circles around Vitali whose easier to deconstruct than his brother.
Good fight with Fury definitely the superior boxer but Vitali is a big man, very strong and got the job done. 50/50 for me. Vitali missed out on the right rivals to cement a real legacy and also had injury troubles. Real shame. I am going with Fury winning but Vitali getting to him in the closing stages to score a KO!
