Also, on all these occasions (Wilder, Cunningam, Wallin, Pajkic) when he not only gets hit but gets dropped/hurt/cut; why in those instances did he not just choose to become this impossible to hit guy you seem to think he is? Why would Mr. Impossible to Hit decide to just throw his game plan away?

Your post makes no sense. The real reason that Fury from time to time gets dropped/hurt/cut is because actually he is hittable and isn't some Mayweather-esque heavyweight.

You’ve got to add context to each fight, Tone. Cunningham, Pajkic and Wallin are all fights he’s expected to stroll through. Personally, I think these kind of challenges are no good for Fury. He needs opponents who he respects otherwise he gets sloppy and he can get hit. That’s a flaw on his part, a weakness. Nobody is saying he’s the greatest of all time, all the heavyweights have flaws. When he’s in with a real threat, he is switched on though. I think he egotistically tried to fight Mexican style last night. He was too bothered about the audience’s perception and as a result he’s put needless Miles on the clock.

I know you pull up the punch stats from the Wilder fight to demonstrate that he is ‘hittable’, you have to bear in mind the shots he’s taking and how he takes them. Wilder missed a lot of power shots, although he had some success with the jab. Mayweather got hit, more often than people realise. He had a brilliant way of riding the shots & moving out of trouble with slick feet, hands, shoulders and lateral movement. That’s where the comparison with Mayweather’s defence comes from.

Fury isn’t unbeatable. I mentioned yesterday that all heavyweights have a style that can beat them. I don’t think he looks comfortable with southpaws at all. Ortiz would have been an awful night for him last night stylistically imo.

A fair post but Hattonmad has literally described the man as being 'impossible to hit' when he wishes. This morning he's back on saying that Wilder is better than a prime Lennox Lewis, presumably because that fits his narrative of how utterly brilliant Fury is. He's stated that Fury is clearly, at the very least, already the second best UK heavyweight in history.

I'm sorry but for all the impression some have of me thinking Joshua is unbeatable (I don't think he is, and it's clear that he isn't, and I'm on record saying Fury could beat him), I have never seen more obvious fanboy nonsense in my life. The cult of Fury is literally laughable in some quarters on here.

If you don't want me pointing out that Fury got sat on his backside twice against Wilder and this rather demonstrates that he really is hittable, maybe your issue should be with the types suggesting hitting him is 'impossible.'

I used to like the guy, but the constant pathological lying and dramatic mental health attention seeking "I've been as low as any man can go" crap has really put me off him. Wilder would spark him out next time but Fury doesn't want that smoke. He knows it.

 

He wants a corner payday. Wants to keep the money amongst the travellers.

 

I just think Wallin turned out to be good and had a solid gameplan.

If you could stop making up things I've said, that would be great. I said "almost" impossible to hit. Which means he's extremely difficult to land clean on. How can anyone dispute this? Wladimir, Hammer, Wilder and Chisora would likely all admit that fact.

I never said Wilder was better than Lewis. I said Wladimir and Wilder were two of the hardest hitting and best of the last 20 years. Admittedly I should've said 17 years but anyone who isn't clutching at straws knew what I meant.

Do you think Bruno is ahead of Fury?? AJ?? Again, it's quite obvious Fury is no.2 all time Brit heavyweight to anyone who isn't agenda driven.

When Fury boxes conservatively, the haters call him boring. When he goes to war, they say he takes too many shots. The man can't win with the likes of you but I'm sure he doesn't care.

 

Undoubtedly Wilder next. Potentially looking at May for them cuts to be fully healed, there’ll be no fights before then. Him and Wilder is a 50/50 for me. Doesn’t matter how skilled you are, Wilder cuts through all that with brilliant instincts in terms of speed, rhythm, timing & range. If Fury avoids his shots, he wins, but 12 rounds is a long time to do that.

 

Why would Wilder suggest Fury was 'almost impossible to hit?' He had him down twice and in very, very serious trouble. It might make sense if you decided to say that had Fury not been dropped twice in the fight.

You said, and I quote, that Klitschko and Wilder were 'the two best and hardest hitting heavyweights of the last 20 years.' So you have Wilder down as better than not just Vitali and Joshua, but also better than the latter-day Holyfield (still capable of beating the likes of Rahman and Moorer, and arguably running Lewis very close in the second fight), but also clearly better than a prime Lennox Lewis himself. Why not just accept this is wrong?

As for your final comment, if you don't want people saying Fury is boring maybe Fury will have to start being more aggressive and throwing more punches. Like it or lump it, most people didn't get into boxing to watch nineteen stone giants land five tip tap punches a round, stick their tongue out, repeat for twelve rounds and then sing a song. And if you don't want people saying he takes too many shots, maybe he'll just have to stop getting caught. This is all simple stuff mate.

 

The best thing about a Fury win (good or bad performance) is the inevitable TonyHayers meltdown in full flow the next day.
