I said this as soon as Fury refused the original rematch. I may be wrong but I certainly stick by it after last nights performance. This content is protected
It would be horrible if Wilder did end his career, Wilder needs to be taught a lesson, he's a f**king moron.
It would’ve been great if Fury lost and then Wilder lost to Ortiz. We would maybe get some urgency then to get the big fights made with the top 3 all losing.
Wilder, unlike Fury has never been banned for drugs, never disrespected the sport by going on coke and drink binges after winning the title, never pulled out of multiple fights due to his own fault...yet you call him then moron.
Warren saying the Feb 22nd date for the Wilder v Fury rematch may have to be pushed back because of the cuts if they don't heal properly. Curse of the Fury skin or just bulls**t delaying tactics after realising he isn't quite the dancing destroyer when put in with someone who fights back?
Well, is Joshua overrated or overhyped? He was (is?) massively popular based on how many people want to watch him, but there's a difference. I don't think I've ever seen him compared to the likes of Mayweather or Ali (which has been the case with Fury, even on here.) People will disagree about who is the best out of all three, but I actually think Fury ends up with the crown of being the most overrated. I personally think any fight between them all is pretty fifty fifty, but on here it's not uncommon for people to go down the line of 'Fury is pretty much impossible to hit when he wants to be and he beats Joshua 99 times out of a hundred.'
He was not the same fighter as he had 50% vision. As David Haye said Fury is a reflex fighter so this was the worst possible scenario. Fortunately it came against a tomatoe can in Otto Wallin. He lost 3 rounds despite only having one eye for 9. This fight should have been stopped by the doctor and a TKO awarded to Wallin.
He didn’t at all. You’re a Fury fan I get it, I’ve commended him. Shown great heart to get through that, weren’t at his best and got his job done comfortably (minus the cut) regardless. Joshua had an off night and got TKO’d. Fury came through. But you cannot honestly tell me that was the same level Fury as what was in against Wilder! He was miles behind, for his dad to even come out and say so, so strongly emphasises my point.
I am actually not a Fury fan, I am neutral on him. He looked exactly the same. Wilder has got a completely different style to Wallin. Wilder was just loading up the right hand and lunging in. Wallin was actually stepping in and reading the movements of Fury. Explain physically and skill wise how he looked better vs Wilder? It is just a totally different fight because of styles. Wallin was getting in range and instead of head hunting like Wilder, he was throwing combos to the body. Fury always telegraphs his jab with that little front foot feint and Wallin was not buying it. He was the same old Fury, the opponent, the style and the tactics of the opponent was just different. I guarantee if he fights Wilder again he will be making his miss and looking slick again, because Wilder is just predictable and not trying to get inside, he just swings and lunges in. Again, I am not a fan of Fury. The only active fighter I am a fan of now is Frampton, all my favourites are retired now.
Obesity, drink and drugs must have a serious adverse impact on the human body's potential to maintain peak athletic potential to box at the highest level. Was shocked myself at how well he performed v Wilder but you are correct with the performance last night. The heart and desire cannot be questioned but we don't know if he is indeed on the verge of being washed up, lacking motivation due to opponent or the impact of the nasty cut. With the latter he looked very flat the first three rounds as well. The man is a mystery and may shock us again.
It may well be as said earlier that he performs to the level of his opponents but against Schwarz that weren’t the case so who knows.
