I think so. Can't think of a better one. Fury was better than him in every department, and dominated him the majority of the fight. Yet it was still undoubtedly a great fight.
It looked onesided but it didn't feel onesided.. I know what I mean Fury was well ahead, it wasn't close on the cards and he did a lot of damage to Wilder. But Wilder dropped Fury twice, the first knocked down looked heavy, Fury went down again and was maybe lucky the bell went.. but recovered really well. Wilder also caught Fury again at the end of another round, in the corner and right on the bell, he hit Fury with an uppercut and Fury stuttered. Even thought Wilder looked gassed after a few rounds and the knockdown in the third, Wilder was dangerous until he was brutally stopped.. I was the edge of my seat throughout, you just had the feeling Wilder was a punch away from pulling off a huge turnaround and upset.
It's been the best one sided trilogy ever. All 3 fights very memorable for different reasons. Fury floored 4 times. Wilder floored 6 times. 2 stoppages. 1 near stoppage. Hats off to both fighters, they deserve credit. Its been a good ride.
The first 5 rds were fought on equal terms. Very competitive. It was always known that Wilders best chance was the right hand and he landed it perfectly in the 4th. The body punches Wilder opened with were a new and effective tactic.
The punch that got Fury in the 4th was very similar to the one that finished Ortiz second time around.
Yeah it really was actually.. good shout. Fury really does has some chin on him... not many wouldn't have survived that.
