With the trilogy fight fast approaching how do people see it going. Is it beyond the realms of possibility that Wilder stands a chance ? Will Fury take his eye off the ball between now and the fight , will he go off the rails again? Will Wilder land that all elusive right hand this time and render Fury unable to beat the count? Will the PPV revenue fall woefully short of what was needed to break even again? Will Sky strong arm BT into paying way over the odds for the UK PPV rights? After watching Wilder's video he seems like he has recovered well and is ready to go again . I can't wait for this fight and keep checking my red button to see when I can donate £25 to the cause, to be honest I think this one will be priced around the £30/£35 mark, which will be well worth it afterall its only the price of a (very big) pizza.
Boxing is weird because you have six months of people talking about a fight saying they can't work out which way it will go, that it's great to see such an even contest and so on, and then the fight happens and the loser is dismissed as the sort of hapless chump who could never beat the winner. So obviously Wilder has a chance. But the reality is that the second fight was so conclusive that there's no real sporting need to see it again. Everyone who follows boxing regardless of their views on who is the best wants to see a different fight that this one will simply get in the way of.
A bit like the AJ v Ruiz rematch though, there were plenty of other fights people would have rather seen , which is often the case.
Lucky the same logic above in the first response was not applied to Teletubby v Tony Dosh PPV or the Saudi stinker would have saved the PPV mugths a fortune.
If we can get enough posts in this thread between now and the fight maybe the powers that be will see how massive the PPV numbers are going to be that they'll only need to charge a fiver and still make a fortune.
There is a bloke on the Wilder v Fury 2 thread appearing more excited about BT releasing the PPV numbers than the actual fight.
Fury a massive favourite. However, Wilder will always have a puncher's chance. I think we could see Wilder going back down to 212/215 for this fight.
Wilder always has a punchers chance. Tbh against a fully fit Fury, no other heavyweight has more than a punchers chance imo. As Wilder has a bigger punch than rest of the division, I would say he has a better chance than rest. Do I think he would win 3rd fight, no I think Fury stops him brutally and ends his career at top end of the sport. But I think Fury in mould of Fury Wilder 2 does the same to anyone else. I think he is a couple of levels or more above the rest of the division.
The irony is that Fury will get better and Wilder won't. Fury had genuine injury problems in his latest camp and it was his first under Sugar Hill - just 7 weeks. If he doesn't get injured this time, sticks to his diet and works more under Sugar Hill, he'll definitely come in better and stronger again, his body and mind more adjusted to the 270 pound weight. What can Wilder do different? Come in light? Give up 50 - 60 pounds? I don't see that winning him the fight. If they fought ten times Fury is likely to win nine, probably ten.
Wilder landed that right hand 5 times in the first two rounds. Fury just about rode the shots but they were fight ending if they landed. So you’re talking about fractions of seconds where if Fury lapses in concentration, they land clean and he’s on the canvas staring up at the lights. So Wilder absolutely does have a big punchers chance in the 3rd fight. Technically, he can bring nothing else new to the table. He’s turning up to try and chin Fury. Fury to stop him again & retire Wilder this time.
Fury needs to keep focussed and take Wilder seriously again. And carry on developing the same style and plan that won it for him last weekedn. If he does that, he should get Wilder out of there in 1 or 2 rounds. It only adds to his resume. Wilder always has a chance with his punch.
I don’t think the rematch happens personally. If I’m Wilder I take the step aside and hope AJ can beat Fury with a shot at the winner
Judging by Wilders latest video it seems like he’s mentally deteriorating. Fury’s gonna savage him with the mind games for the third fight.
He is giving Fury so much ammunition. If he is not broken now he will be by the time he gets into the ring.
