Lewis wasn`t that great on the front foot, he just bullrushed Golota and caught him with good shots like Tyson did.
At the peak of their powers im taking Lewis, Vitali, Tyson, Holyfield and Holmes. With Wladimir and Foreman its close Fury beats the rest
I think it would be more interesting to put in reach rather than height...or a combination of them added. Then you would see an even larger discrepancy. If you take Fury's billed reach from boxrec (216cm fingertip to fingertip, measured across the back) and look at it on a tape measure it's ridiculous. I agree with another poster, let's see how he deals with Joshua.
Tyson was a far better body puncher than anybody Fury has faced and he would have destroyed Wallin' Tyson punched far hardder than Wallin does.
Wlad slaughtered the likes of Prime Haye, Prime Povetkin, almost beat AJ on his last legs, went unbeaten for 11 years. He wasn't the best all round boxer ever, but I think one of the highest IQ boxers ever.
So bloody what! Hearns had more power than Leonard did not stop Leonard knocking him out. Wilder has more power than Fury we all saw how that went. Tyson and Foreman had more power than Holyfield yet he beat. Having more power does not equate necessarily to victory. Boxing is more complicated than that.
He didn`t slaughter Haye, he struggled to land much as Haye backed off and when he landed flush Haye took his power with no problems at all.
Wlad was far better than Tyson was after Rooney left his corner, Hearns was out-boxing Leonard before getting caught, Ray`s hand speed was from another planet, Holy didn`t have faster hands than Wlad and he would eat a whole load of jabs in that fantasy match-up, even older Foreman was able to catch Holy a lot.
Lennox, Holyfield and Tyson are the ones I'd probably side with if a gun was pointed at my head. Vitali is an extremely tough fight but I think Fury edges it. The rest I'd fancy Fury to beat.
Haye threw himself around like a *****. Wlad well beat him in the end. There was a clear gap in class.
I personally don’t believe or accept Wlad was better than Tyson post Rooney. I am pretty certain Tyson would have knocked Wladimir out in his peak years pre and post Rooney. Leonard and Hearns are outstanding fighters period. It was not so much Leonard’s handspeed but his boxing brain and sheer desire. He realised he could not outbox Hearns and would need to Frazier. The outstanding Hearns had blustering hand speed himself. Holyfield is better all round fighter than Wlad who was not as good as Bose or Lennox Lewis. Foreman did not knock out Holyfield but pretty certain he would decapitate Wladimir.
Wlad beat many undefeated contenders, and even titleholders. And he dominated them. With authority like is rarely seen. Wlad was THE man at heavy for one of the longest reigns in boxing history ibragimov, Povetkin Chagaev Brock Byrd On and on....... Wlad was an ATG, without question List all the other heavyweights that dominated the division for over 10 years ....don’t worry ...........I’ll wait
