TYSON FURY says he intends to overtake Floyd Mayweather as boxing’s new money man by signing a multi-million pound contract.

The WBC heavyweight penned a deal with management company MTK Global when he returned to the ring in 2018.

He then signed with UK promoter Frank Warren and BT Sports before taking that a step further the following year.

The Gypsy King agreed a bumper deal with US promoter Bob Arum and American broadcaster ESPN.

Fury is three fights into that five bout package and is looking to finish it off by firstly defeating Deontay Wilder again before an expected unification showdown with fellow Brit and heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua.

And he is planning on securing a package that would smash all before him - including the world’s richest boxer Mayweather, who is worth an estimated £460m.

Speaking on Instagram Live, Fury said: “I’m coming to the end of my contract with Top Rank, I’ve got two more fights left with those guys and I wanna renew it.

“I don’t wanna just walk away after two more fights, I’m 31 years old.

“Like Billy said – the man who helped with this deal with ESPN and Top Rank – he said, ‘They better get out the dump truck and reverse it back up to Tyson Fury’s bank account, because that’s what it’s gonna need.’

“I wanna get that big, big major fight deal. I wanna break all records for a British fighter to go overseas and get the biggest signing record in history.

“And I know that with MTK Global, Top Rank and Frank Warren, I know that we can make that happen.

“I know that we can break history with the biggest fight contract deal in the history of boxing.

“Bigger than Floyd Mayweather, bigger than Canelo, bigger than Mike Tyson, bigger than anybody.

“I think it’s very possible and I always aim high with my achievements. That’s my next aim.

“After I’ve wiped out these two dossers, Wilder and Joshua, then the world’s my oyster and we wanna see that big, big contract come from ESPN and whoever’s out there battling to get the ‘Gypsy King’ on their station.”

I guess he'll just give it all away to the homeless then, after saying he didn't care about money a few months ago.

I can't see the mental midget fighting more than once or twice more personally, probably taken out. He just doesn't have the mind-set/dedication/discipline of a Mayweather, more of a Billy Joe Saunders.

Good luck to him. I love the guy. But he is going to run into three huge problems.

    1) Where is all this money going to come from in the post-Covid era? No one knows what the financial fallout of this thing will be yet, but it could be huge.

    2) Outside of Joshua, who is he going to fight? I guarantee Wilder III is going to be a bust. What are the other big names these days? He has already said he can't make money from Whyte or Usyk. Who then? Dubois? Joyce? Ruiz? Dig up Haye or first Tyson? Any ideas?

    3) Fury has become something of an international star, but the average sports fan still has no idea who either heavyweight champion is.

Good luck to you, Tyson, I am rooting for you. I would love nothing more than for you to be the guy who restores boxing.

He'd need a trilogy with AJ in the Middle East to make that happen.

He won't even face the top challengers, so it's more hot air from the man.

This is why I don't think the AJ fight will happen after wilder 3. He will want to get that big contract signed before committing to the Joshua fights imo.

I dont really get it tbh. Surely after you,ve got a certain amount of money it becomes moot. These guys are multi millionaires....even then its still a quest to get even more. Pretty sad if you ask me... At what point do you turn round and say i,ve got enough. Fury and guys like that shouldn,t even mention money.

Last month it was just the third Wilder instalment, two fights with AJ and then retirement.

Last year it was his intention to beat Joe Louis' 70-year record of 25 consecutive world title defences.

Fury talks out of his ass most of the time.

Agree. I totally get maximising earning potential making as much money as you can and fighting for money....at least up to a point anyway.

But as soon as your financially secured in the manner that fury etc is...it then becomes about the love of the game or proving yourself to be the best. He doesnt need anymore money....find it odd when they get big money it then becomes all about getting more money. Almost like an illness. They seem to get worse the more money they get. Almost seems an illness to floyd to the point no one likes him or even respects his considerable achievements because most people dont really respect that hes allowed money to control everything about him. Could be jealousy but looks more like not much respect for someone that values money quite as much as he does.

He'll have to add a few chapters to his mental health journey to gain enough interest and popularity to get anywhere near to achieving this. He'll probably have to do more to erase certain chapters in his life that actually definitely happened like some of the people he has been associated with.

My motto has always been "take what you need, the rest is greed", Fury's changes daily!

In all seriousness, if he beats Wilder then Joshua in his next two fights, where does the money come from?

There’s absolutely nobody worth good money in that division bar Joshua/Wilder/Fury. He’s in dreamland.

    Dubois and Joyce.

He can put a beatdown on and stop the tubby little grinning mexican fella. put into context the chinny racist quitting in their first fight then running scared in the rematch.

Call out the big baby for a no limits matchup, millergets to juice himself up to the absolute gunnels, properly roided out of his box, veins bulging, eyeballs about to burst, sweating pure hgh.

beat up on Joey twelve parker, stop him. no ones ever stopped that chump.

Beat up on HUGH FURY. Cousin vs Cousin, get mick hennesey back in the mix
