Interestingly enough, he is actually of Irish decent.

His full name is Santon Saul Alvarez Barragan.

Barragan, is a Spanish derivative of Branigan.

    ..the more you know!

Actually more like 100.000 with seating on the field and yes a world heavyweight championship fight involving an Irish man would easily sell out

Actually De La Hoya is Mexican, his entire blood line and heritage is Mexican and he was born in California which was once a part of Mexico. He was also raised in a Mexican home in a Mexican neighborhood in a city filled with ****ing Mexicans, it really doesn't get much more simpler than that

Fury is the exact same, his entire bloodline and heritage is Irish, he was raised in a Irish home/caravan in an place area/holting site/clan filled with Irish people

    This doesn't guarantee Irish heritage.

Source or else you made it up.

How far back it goes,I dont know. Theres been Iirish people in Mexico for 100s of years. Many fought in the Mexican army.

But having an Irish name, pretty much is proof that he is of Irish decent.

If I met a tanned guy in Ireland whose last name was Rodriguez and he said he was of Spanish decent, I wouldnt question it.

I will spare you all any sarcastic remarks about his delusions but in all fairness that would be an awesome venue to watch a big heavyweight fight.

Fury switches nationality to suit him.

When he had to fight Price or lose the British title he was all of a sudden Irish.

''I've always wanted to win the Irish title'' and all that bollocks.

If he was REALLY proud to be Irish he wouldn't have wanted the British (or Commonwealth) titles.

Or the English title for that matter.

If a fighter wins the British title, he shouldn't be eligible to fight for the Irish title, and vice-versa.
