Fury was losing on points to Cunningham at the time the bout was stopped, was Cunningham really winning that fight? Did that fight prove that smaller world champs from the past might have been able to beat Fury in hypothetical match ups?

Yes, those scores were perfectly acceptable. Fury lost the 2nd 10-8, as well as the 3rd and 4th.

That fight should give Usyk fans some hope, it's possible a smaller faster fighter can out box Fury but when Fury does get out boxed much like when Lewis on the rare occasion was out boxed could switch it up and turn the boxing match into a down and dirty fight.

Can Usyk find an answer to the physical style of Fury, it's a style that's dominated heavyweight boxing now for 3 decades with Lewis, Wlad and now Fury, tall super heavies that manhandle smaller faster opponents to control distance and where the fight is fought.

It's funny how John and Tyson talk about Steve Cunningham as if he was some kind of unslayable monster. He was world class but he's not in Usyks league.

Fury had to foul, maul, hold, clinch, grab, and wrestle Cunningham to beat him. Was an ugly fight to watch.

Not that much as you describe it, but this is all part of the boxing. Not using your size advantage is like being fast, but not using your speed.

USS was winning up until Fury started mauling and fouling.
55-57 in favor of Cunningham was the right score.

Yes I had Cunningham up 57-55. But Fury was clearly taking over and breaking down an exhausted Cunningham at the time of the stoppage.

Fury beat the life out of Cunningham by round 5 despite it being "competitive" for all them rounds.

At the end of 5 Fury started dancing and Richardson cut the tape on Cunninghams glove to give him an extra 30 seconds to recover....Didn't help Fury knocked him cold 2 rounds later.

You cannot compete whilst fighting with a fridge on top of you. Fury will feel your lifeforce through his hairy sweaty chest and the moment you go limp he will steal your mojo.

Fury didn't have a trainer in his corner for this bout he came to box Cunningham but after getting caught early just went to war and the results were inevitable. Cunningham was born of a woman.

People can trash him all they like but this fight is part of the reason Haye ducked Fury twice...and Haye has a much more capable right hand which would put Fury down even harder but yet he didn't want the fridge on top of him. All men fear the fridge.

The only thing Usyk potentially brings is can he move for 12 rounds? I don't think so...he has never been that kind of fighter. He is a pressure boxer like Loma...but his arm punches will bounce off Fury. All that subtle defence is worth jack when Fury is happy to trade and hit shoulders, arms and gloves....He will blow through Usyk's defence. Ignoring the fact Fury is a much more capable fighter today himself.

Cunningham is a tough tough man but once the stamina is drained what can you do? Usyk definitely has a warrior spirit in him which will help but he's going to get the same treatment. He will tire and his arm punches will be met with sweeping 270 pound off angle blows that tilt his head around as he hides behind a high guard wishing he was fighting a bodybuilder.

Usyk's corner stop the fight and they claim injury in round 9...and if Fury gets off his long range punches early they should quit immediately.

It's like fighting a 270 pound Berterbiev or Breides. Usyk has no chance. He boxed them men off but they are half the damn size of Fury.

I don't want to hear ANY excuses from the naysayers. I will make the excuses for Usyk which are he's a blown up middleweight with a dodgy shoulder.

I'd wager that if Fury and Usyk fight, Fury won't be showboating to the crowd and dropping his hands beckoning Usyk to trade with him as he did in the Cunningham fight.

The fact that so many people think that it's a perfect fight to compare to how a Usyk fight will go makes me think that most of you just youtubed the highlights the next day.

There are 20 other fights that give Usyk fans a lot of hope.
