Boxing doesn't work like that. Fury's jab has become sloppy and slow. No more snap on it compared to the old days. And Whyte's become way more than just a left hook. Throws it a lot tighter now as well.
Fury was rocking Wilder with hard jabs in the second and third fights, so not sure I agree with that. In the Chisora fight, Fury wasn't even jabbing him that hard but Chisora's face was totally smashed in by the end of the fight. Whyte is going to have a really hard time closing in on Fury, there is a massive height different.
Oh he can jab hard, I'm not disputing that. I'm saying he's lost the speed and snap on his shots and become more of a come forward brawler. He's traded in one set of attributes for another. Whyte might have a hard time dealing with Fury's reach. It depends on how well he can establish his own jab. Wallin was able to jab with Fury in stretches, and he's not got anywhere near the authority as Whyte. And is Fury really going to be hanging back on Whyte? I think he might actually be the one coming in on Whyte here.
At some point, once I've watched it again, maybe I will. At the time, I gave it to McDermott by a minimum of 2rds. In the meantime, why not familiarise yourself with the RBR for the fight on this forum https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/fury-v-mcdermott-round-by-round.168232/
The first KD against Parker in the second round was a headbutt and changed the direction of the fight drastically. Parker fought concussed for the entire fight so the second KD doesn't count at all. Without the fake and illegal first KD there is no second KD. And Povetkin is shot to bits and has no punch resistance anymore and he didn't train for the second fight and just had Covid before that, was hospitalized and lost a lot of muscle mass.
Whyte is 100% dangerous, if his chin is still a decent one, but i'm not sure of that. He was having a decent chin before the AJ fight, but he took a huge beating and huge bombs from AJ during the course of a lot of rounds. That was the beginning, as he eat more punishment down the road, and was down, and KO Cold by ancient Povetkin. His chin may be cracked big time, and if it is, Fury may have an easy night. But if Whyte chin can still hold on to HW fights, Fury will be in trouble. That doesn't mean Fury will lose, but Whyte can challenge him. As i said it before the fight is 65-35 % in favor of Fury, as the split should have been.
Show a little more respect for Povetkin. He has been among the top 10 heavyweights for years. And he has a better resume than the vast majority of them.
