I don't know but the referee did the right thing.
It's a championship fight. Fury was given the chance to get up. He got up and was okay, definitely on steady legs and knew what was going on, and was keen to continue.

Refs decision was justified by the fact fury won rest of round

Since he was only fighting Wilder then I think a Brit ref might give him the opportunity

If it happened vs AJ they probably would have stopped it after the 1st KD LOL,

or maybe just when AJ does a little flurry like against Takam!!!!

Look at the Groves stoppage in the first fight against Froch does anyone really believe that Fury wouldn’t of lost if Howard Foster or pretty much any British referee had been in charge of this fight ?

Its a tough one. If a fighter looked legitimately knocked out. How safe is it to let the fight go on.

This ended well. But what if Wilder jumps on Fury and puts him in hospital. Doesn't reflect well on the ref.

    Uh? Whah..... Such trollery....
People only need look at the fight between AJ and Wlad to see BOTH fighters receiving heavier knockdowns and being allowed to continue.
Not like the ref for Wilder V Fury is some sort of 'one off' refereeing messiah ffs

Probably right regarding the ref, some would have stopped it...however it's the right decision.

It's a fight, let these fighters get back up and fight.

The question is irrelevant for two reasons:

A.) We'll never know for sure if a British referee would've stopped it or not because there is more than one British referee out there. Most probably would have, not all.

B.) The referee made a brilliant call not waving it off. The correct decision.

I actually think you're right. Fury looked totally 'out' initially; I think it would have been an instant wave off.

Reiss is a good ref. If you haven't seen it, he lambasted a fighter for making a huge deal out of a small cut (I think it was Petrov-Diaz). It's pretty amusing and floating around on YouTube

If the ref had waved this off at 4 or 5 and removed Fury’s gumshield, I don’t think anyone would be complaining (inc Fury). At that point he was slept.

    Agree.

But I’ll say not just British refs, a lot of refs worldwide would have waved it off. It was remarkable him getting back up. So hats off to Reiss
