And Wilder has been put down by bums, embarrassed by Fury, wobbled by Molina and all the rest of it...Joshua has been put down many times..

One bad performance doesn't determine how great they'll be. Everyone has an off-day.

If anything, the performance against Wallin shows how utterly useless Wilder is. That's what we should really take from this.

It backs up this idea that has been floating around that the current heavyweight division is a tier below previous eras. And that may well be true. But the opposite could be true, that there are more contenders than ever.

You do realize even Muhammad Ali had poor performances against fringe contenders, was knocked down, hurt multiple times though out a fight but still over came adversity and won majority of those fights?? Kind of sounds like Tyson Fury.

Because most fans nowadays are casuals, too reactionary & fickle. These people forget just how **** Fury looked pre-Klitschko v Hammer, and how **** he looked v Pianeta pre-Wilder...very short memories some people have

The name ,,,Fury,, and truly great heavyweight should never be used in the same sentence

One way to measure greatness is how a fighter comes back from a setback or poor showing. Fury won, he came through a scrap and now will reassess and I believe he’ll have a far better showing in his next fight.

I’m not saying Fury’s great, that word is very high praise and thrown about too often but to suggest a fighters stock falls so much after one below par performance, although victorious, is completely ridiculous.

Anyone saying Wallin was a bum really has no business on this thread because they are the usual suspects now claiming Fury is overatted when before the fight some of these guys were predicting second/third round knockout win for him .Sorry guys cant have it both ways. lol

HAD Breazeale landed cleanly with that initial punch he may have put Wilder down ? And IF that happened I guarantee no Wilder fans would be found on here. lol

Fighter get into long or short circumsatnces ,stop cheerleading then down grading and just watch the fights ?

Lol when was Tyson Fury the best heavyweight in the last 15 years? I mean to intelligent people so not biased Europeans (especially the Brits). Tyson Fury beat a old washed up Wladimir Klitschko by running for 12 rounds and landing 86 punches then he got in the ring against unskilled no talent Deontay Wilder and ran for 12 rounds, landed only 84 punches while getting dropped twice. How does that equate to being great?

If you want to use that logic then Ross Purrity is all time great since he beat a prime Wlad. A 37 year old Corrie Sanders who never anybody else worth mentioning in his career besides a old Bert Cooper destroyed Wladimir in 3:20 seconds. So I guess Corrie Sanders is the greatest of all time now right? Then Lamon Brewster had Wlad crawling on his knees back to his corner. Is Lamon Brewster great now?

Tyson Fury has always been a big Uncle Fester looking moron who fans are basically biased Europeans (Especially Brits) and other low level people. In any other era modern heavyweights (From the 70's on) Fury would of been laughed at for extremely pitiful in the ring and out of it.

Not during his peak years of 64-67 - during that time he was on a different level.

You've conveniently picked a period just after where you know he was nearly one punch KO'd by a guy 20 pounds lighter than him.

James Toney. ATG or not? Because he had monumental struggles with some ‘no names’ in his career.

It happens to everyone at the top level.

Intentional yes, but the comparison is still valid. Fury is operating in his peak years...Ali's "peak years" are by the majority considered to be 64-67.
As for the Cooper fight, he still got up and finished the job.
Fury was knocked down by Wilder...and also got up.

Who is to say these are Fury's peak years? I don't think they are - he can be good now but that doesn't change that he was for most people he was a better fighter younger and pre- depression/drug problems/alcoholism/morbid obesity.

Edit: also - did Ben Davidson create a distraction to buy Fury more time or did he just get up of his own accord?
