Whyte has a history of turning down career high paydays for title shots as well. I know what you are saying but it really goes both ways.

He turned down one, against Joshua pre-covid. Is that a history of doing something?

Actually he accepted the 5m, but Joshua then inserted a one-way rematch clause where AJ would get the lion's share. Whyte couldn't even speculate to accumulate, so fair
    enough refusing such terms.
Joshua then paid Miller 7m who had no where near the profile of Whyte or rankings of Whyte.

It's pretty obvious that Joshua didn't actually want to fight Whyte, but wanted to pursue his American dream instead

As do I. But the same way you say Whyte output as himself and asks forctoo much money, Fury ducks challenges and tries to sneak in tune up fights. Why is it that every single time Fury is supposed to fight someone halfway good, something happens to mess up the fight? The Wilder fights, Haye, Klitschko rematch, AJ and now the mandatory Whyte fight. Tell me how a guy with one title defense in 6 years can swerve a mandatory and get full support?

Fury's been WBC champ less than 2 years, during which time Whyte's spent 7 months lying on canvas at the feet of an old man, (figuratively speaking.)
Whyte's been his mandatory for just a couple of months. Fury last fought less than 3 months ago.
Fury, as of yet, has not swerved the fight. And no one is giving him full support.

    Agreed.

But Whyte's defence, he's never held the belts that Tyson has nor beat men as good. So you can make a case for him. You can't with Tyson.

Whyte has since admitted that he got offered 50/50 for the rematch. That's a ridiculously good offer. We all know the real reason why he HAD to turn that fight down and it wasn't because he was scared or whatever.

    Agreed.

Him shaving his hair and then letting it grow as wild as it does is a sign.

Same for Tyson. And same for Floyd.

I remember the IFL video confirming as such

Whyte has no desire to be a champ

Just to get in and out the game as quick as possible which isn't a bad idea but he gives the public far too many BS stories about being done over

PLENTY of guys on here are giving him support haha. Read the comments. Fury has had the belt for almost 2 years and he had to be taken to court to force him to fight both Wilder and now Whyte. If he swerves, it's a duck, nothing more.

Tell you what, I'm willing to admit I am wrong on the rematch clause if you can point me to video where Whyte said this.
@Wizbit1013, you said it was an IFL video, do you have a link, or a title?

The IFL video I have seen is the one where Hearn and Whyte are arguing about it, and Hearn pretty much is forced to admit that it was a bum deal being offered

Honestly it was a long time ago

And not a chance in hell im going through all the back catalogue to find it lol

He did say it was a poor offer but that Whyte was unhappy with the rematch split if he won

They then offered a 50 50 or something along those lines but Whyte still for whatever reason wanted the lions share

I know i saw it but as i say no way im hunting it down

Why Did Wilder take him to court again?

Nothing to do with a potential AJ fight no?

You have every right to call it or consider it "a duck" if he swerves it. It's a valid opinion.

But many of us don't give a **** if he goes and fights a Ruiz or Parker instead, because Whyte's simply not good enough or qualified enough to worry about. He's lucky to have been ranked so high to begin with.

Also, a lot of us genuinely think Whyte is a greedy spoilt prima donna if he turns down millions of pounds, regardless of the percentage that the champion demands for himself. History is full of challengers taking a short end to get the fight done. Far less than what Whyte would turn down. Clearly you would blame Fury anyway. You would never consider the possibility that Whyte is trying to price himself out, even if it became clear that happened.

Hopefully they will fight soon and we can all shut up about it. It's really not a great fight at all but it's being built up already. It's a tune up for Fury that should keep everyone happy while we wait for a real fight.
