Couldn't care who gets what. Just get this fight signed and let Tyson expose Whyte once and for all.

"The WBC named Whyte as the mandatory challenger but then ruled that Fury would take 80 per cent of the total purse for the fight. Whyte's promoter Eddie Hearn told talkSPORT that they would appeal the WBC's verdict to only award them 20 percent."

Good to see the WBC has seen sense.

The WBC couldn’t see “sense” unless they got paid to see it... by the highest bidder.

Dillian Whyte urged to stop ‘messing around’ and ‘work out a deal’ for Tyson Fury fight by promoter Bob Arum
Tyson Fury's US-based promoter Bob Arum says about Dillian Whyte: "Come to the table and let's see if we can carve out a real deal. Let's quit screwing around. I don't know Dillian but I would think he wants the fight."

Dillian Whyte has been urged to "come to the table" to "work out a real deal" to fight Tyson Fury by promoter Bob Arum.

Fury has been ordered to defend his WBC heavyweight championship against mandatory challenger Whyte by the governing body, which has ruled the champion must take 80 per cent of the total purse.
The deadline is on Tuesday, January 18 for the rivals to come to a private agreement, before 'purse bids' will be ordered - allowing any promoter to finance and stage the fight.

Top Rank's Arum, who promotes Fury in the US, told Sky Sports about Whyte: "If he wants the fight and stops messing around, he can get a good payday and prove that he is of a world-class calibre by taking on Fury.

"We'd like to do that fight. It's a good fight for the UK.

"Whyte should sit down with myself and [Fury's UK promoter] Frank Warren and work out a deal for a guarantee, and we'll get this show on the road.

"Come to the table and let's see if we can carve out a real deal.
    "Let's quit screwing around.

"I don't know Dillian but I would think he wants the fight. I don't know his psyche.

"Let's let Oleksandr Usyk fight Anthony Joshua, which is contracted, and let's get Fury to fight Whyte."

The WBC had ordered negotiations for the mandatory bout between Fury and his British rival in December, despite an ongoing arbitration between Whyte and the WBC.

Usyk is set to defend the IBF, WBA and WBO belts against Joshua in a rematch before an undisputed title fight would become possible later this year.

Andy Ruiz Jr and Robert Helenius have previously been named by Arum as potential back-up options to fight Fury, if he can't come to an agreement with Whyte.

"That is up to Tyson," he said. "We have discussed other opponents."

Fury's goal is to return to the ring on March 26 in the UK but Arum said: "If the fight is a week later or two weeks later? It's not the end of the world."

Whyte is on the brink of his first-ever world title shot after his long campaign to receive a chance.

His status as interim champion was lost in a shock knockout to Alexander Povetkin but he roared back to emphatically avenge that result.

The undefeated Fury has concluded his trilogy with Deontay Wilder with two sensational victories and is targeting a return to UK soil after five consecutive fights in the US.

Considering how awkward and tough Fury’s team and the WBC have decided to make this. 65/35 should be the minimum and get the fight done.

Fury prays and wishes that he could duck Whyte, but he needs to man up and accept a real challenge where he has something to lose and nothing to gain.

Anyone seen his interviews when Whyte is mentioned? His voice changes, demeanour becomes anxious... there is fear and hesitation there no doubt.

wouldn’t say it if I didnt believe it.

Why on earth are you, a presumably full grown man, so bothered about what money Dillian Whyte earns? Unless you are him or your his brother, it’s nothing to do with you. I know you’re a fan, you’ve made that painfully obvious after running away after he got banjoed, but surely all you want to see is him in big fights? The money is nothing to do with you, so surely you should just hope he takes what he’s been offered so he can have a big fight against Fury?

Fury is not scared of Whyte by the way. He’s boxed away against Klitschko who had barely lost more than a handful of rounds in 10 years, boxed Wilder who knocked out everyone who looked in his direction yet he’s scared of Whyte who whilst being a good heavyweight, has had serious issues at the top level of the division.

As a slightly related note, it’s really weird when people obsess over what money a boxer is getting and argue that someone shouldn’t take a fight if they don’t get X split. It’s nothing to do with 20 stone Dave watching Floyd Mayweather at 4 in the morning, so why does he concern himself. Odd behaviour.

I invite you to step outside of your shoes for 5 minutes and observe the amount of irrational, contradictory bias you have poured out with that post.

Why do I care about the split? Why does Fury care when he says he doesnt care?? Thats the real question here because thats the real hold up. Whyte never said he doesnt care.

clearly a lot of people in this forum care enough to chime in on the split, but you take it upon yourself to single me out specifically??? Ha!!!

And automatically Whyte is the bad guy on top of that? Come on, less bias please then you can be taken more seriously.

how about this, if someone else was in Whytes position and got there the same way Whyte did I would be fighting their corner with just as much intensity.

I give credit where credit is due. And if someone is getting oppressed or shafted I will speak up about it as I have done.

“Fury isnt scared to fight Whyte he fought Klitckho and Wilder” because you are so biased it has literally affected your eyesight in missing the part where I said “fury taking on a real challenge with something to loss and nothing to gain”

    klitckho
was a title holder, of course Fury will take the fight. Wilder was a title holder, of course Fury will take the fight. How many defences has Fury done? Rest my case.

whyte fought tough guys who had no title at the time, but previously held one. Thats a challenge. Thats testing yourself. That commands respect.

And I give HUGHIE FURY the same respect. Because I am not biased. He fought Povetkin Pulev and Parker before his 23rd Bday.

The only odd behaviour in my
Opinion is your indifference and complacency with Whyte getting 80/20. Its because of people like you that organisations get away with corruption as there is not enough people calling them out on it.

And before Whyte or Fury came along WBC was long lauded as a corrupt organisation.

And the guy you continue to defend in Tyson Fury consistently lies, where I have cited several instances. Fury is a joke to me. And I respect his cousin Hughie a lot more. Just gets in there and fights, doesnt lie.. doesnt make stuff up... doesnt make things difficult.

Arum is saying Whyte should come to the table to negotiate.
Hearn is saying Whyte should take the 'purse bids' route, which is 20% at the moment, but Hearn will make sure it's huge.

Arum/Warren are saying Whyte's squabble with the WBC could be drawn out until March, which isn't good because Fury wants to fight in March/April.

I don't really understand why Hearn thinks purse bids is the way to go. I guess he's got the green light from his backers and he's going to get a huge bid in.
I just hope it is sorted quickly and Whyte actually wants this fight very soon, not wait around for months messing around.

The idea that Fury doesn't want the fight makes no sense whatsoever. It's a good payday. Whyte's a small risk and quite a big reward.

    Eddie Hearn:
"I don't see a deal being done at 80-20, so then I see it just goes to purse bids - it doesn't matter if it's done via a deal or a purse bid, but I just can't see a deal being agreed that way.

"Therefore, we have to put a value on that fight and put a bid on accordingly, as do Top Rank or anyone else, and maybe someone bids crazy for that fight.

"If I'm Dillian Whyte, I'm not accepting an 80-20 split, now you'd have to accept it via a purse bid, but you don't know because you will get a much better deal financially from a purse bid, I'll make sure of it."

80/20 split is proof Fury dont want that smoke

thats lowball and duck in block capital letters

If Fury thought Whyte was SO EASY he would say “look mate you’re so easy you can have 60/40, because Im Fury and i dont care about the money” “lets get this fight done dillian can have 33% less than my split”

instead Fury is like 80/20, maybe even 90/10 take it or leave it. Yeah that shows real commitment to the number 1 ranked and the interim champion.

80/20 is what Fury got for Klitcshko. Additionally the guarantee Arum offered is higher than Usyk took for AJ.

You could say the same about Whyte.
If he's serious about fighting, he should take the short end and go out and win the championship.

Besides, it was the WBC who say 80/20, not Fury and his promoters.
In fact, Arum has repeatedly invited Whyte to negotiate and did in fact say 25% with over 5 million guarantee as a starting position.
Hearn is now saying 'purse bids', which is currently set at 20%.
    Which is strange.

Whyte's not at all confident of winning, so wants to maximize the cash out. I get that.
