Fury Wilder III

This fight is less than a month away and there doesn't seem to be too much interest in, or is that just me?

From watching some of the Wilder interviews (not the presser obviously), I can't work out whether he's playing it cool, or just knows he's already lost and is going in for the payday. My gut feeling is the latter as he doesn't seem bright enough to play mind games, but I could be wrong on that one.

I'm not sure that Malik Scott being is trainer is going to bring anything new to his game either. It seems a bit like if Fury announced that Michael Sprott was going to be his new trainer.

 

Absolutely no hype around this yet- not even from BT.

 

I suspect they're waiting until the Euro's have calmed down a bit before they start plugging it, but still, it's been very quiet. It's been like the Marie Celeste on these boards as well, to be fair.

 

I think Fury staying off social media is also contributing. It's 100% the right decision for his own sake, but it does help to build the fight.

 

There is no desire from the fans for this 3rd fight. Undisputed would have been massive, this one feels like no one really cares to see it again and Wilder looks a beaten man before a punch or even insult has been thrown.

 

Probably look stupid in a months time but I just have a feeling about Wilder. The fact Fury has been focused on Joshua for so long, swanning round America etc. I can't recall Fury ever having a social media break before a fight either. Think he knows he's been slacking.

 

Bt don't have much on over the summer so it's not like they can cross promote the Fury wilder 3 fight on anything. Euros taking away from any build up then it'll be the Olympics. How many buys did the first two fights do in the UK? I can see this flopping here. Covid restrictions means media can't really get out to the US either so I don't see how it picks up.

 

From memory I think he has done this in the final few weeks before all fights since Wilder 1.

 

Ah right my bad. I don't take too much notice of social media tbh, just saw how he made a big thing of it.

 

Wilder trying to play mind games with Fury is hilarious, like Spinks trying the same with Tyson prior to a rematch.
