Fury-Wilder likely to be postponed

Spencer Fearon has just suggested the fight was postponed due to "racial tension".

 

And Seffin is a legit defence, is it? Give over.

 

Anthony Joshua "won" the IBF belt, which Fury was stripped of, against Charles Martin, who won it because his opponent did his knee in after about 5 minutes.

He then defended it against Molina and Breazeale, in succession.

And people moan about Fury's opponents!

I can't buy it anymore, I work in mental health and well being and this isn't good for the stigma that comes with mental health conditions, this is bang out wrong and he should be advised to cool it with all this talk because he's all over the place with it.

 

Think the big man is more ADHD than mental health issues.

Never believed a word of it from the start although one never really knows as we cannot look inside his head - he always appears to look happy to me.

 

Agreeing to those defences was the price Haymon extracted from Hearn for sending Martin across the pond. I give him a pass given that he's subsequently tended to fight guys higher up the rankings than Wilder or Fury's opponents have been.

 

Higher up the rankings doesn't mean much, when the rankings are assembled subjectively.

Fury doesn't exactly fight all comers, but Joshua's record is one of the most overrated records I can think of. He's had one 50-50 bout (against Klitschko, coming off a loss and inactivity) and all wins on home soil (aside from Matchroom Saudi), where his opponents know that they need a knockout to win.

At least Fury has the wins that matter. Beating Takam, Molina, Breazeale, Pulev and co. are not impressive simply because belts were on the line. Nobody is going to remember any of that except as a paper reference.

 

Yes it’s the fights against the likes of Sefer Seferi and Francesco Pianeta that people will remember.

 

The Klitschko stinker and both Wilder fights is what I remember more than his other fights.
